POSITION DETAILS

A key component of SDEM at Hostos Community College, the Office of the Registrar serves as the repository of all student academic records including grades and transcripts. The Office also certifies candidates for graduation, provides enrollment reports, and oversees veterans’ enrollment and benefits certifications, as well as managing class schedules and assignments.

Reporting to the Transfer Credit Evaluator (Admissions Sr. Specialist), the successful candidate will be responsible but not limited to the following:

* Assists in the mass processes for incoming students as well as reactivation processes for transfer students.

* Documents and reviews current transfer policies and makes recommendations for any necessary changes.

* Updates the University and College catalog libraries.

* Assists with the reconciliation of biographical/demographical data within the Student Information System (CUNYFirst).

* Evaluates and post credits for incoming transfer students from city, state and private educational institutions.

* Downloads college and high school transcripts using databases, including but not limited to the University Application Processing Center System (UAPC-AS400).

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

The following qualifications are preferred:

* Availability to work evening and weekend hours

* Familiarity with CUNYfirst (PeopleSoft) student applications

* Interprets and communicates academic, registration and enrollment policies and procedures

* Assists with registration and provides information to prospective and enrolled students in registration and records-related areas

* Complies, generates, and updates various reports, catalogs, and inventories

* Maintains compliance with established record release procedures, including the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

* Collaborates with College and University offices to address inquires and concerns and resolve student registration and record problems

* May participate in activities related to course scheduling and maintaining course databases

* May monitor and revise the content of web pages and other communication materials

* Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$35,576 - $40,129; commensurate with education and experience.
