POSITION DETAILS

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Enrollment and Student Financial Services, the Title IV Compliance Manager is responsible for assisting in the planning, developing, and implementing of policies and procedures of all federal programs:

* Manages the department's compliance plan and initiatives.

* Plans, develops and updates all required consumer information, disclosures, website content, publications and other communications as needed.

* Manages the college's Gainful Employment reporting in consultation with the offices of Institutional Research and Information Technology to the Department of Education.

* Create tools to assess office procedures and make recommendations for improvement.

* Work closely with managers in Bursar, Admissions, Registrar, Testing and Academic Advising to develop a culture of accountability and accurate processing for student records.

* Oversee annual audits (CUNY, KPMG, etc.) and work with on-campus departments (Bursar, Registrar and Admissions) as needed to provide documents for sample students selected for review.

* Review student samples for all federal programs monthly to ensure quality control and compliance with Title IV regulations.

* Provide reports as needed on internal audit and testing of all Title IV aid process outcomes.

* Keep up to date and abreast of applicable Title IV laws and regulations.

* Disseminate information pertaining to Title IV law and regulation changes to all constituents; track and respond to internal compliance and regulatory concerns and issues.

* Conduct training and presentations in compliance topics to all staff as needed.

* Supervise professional and clerical support staff.

* Perform related duties as assigned by the Senior Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

­Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Knowledge of Federal and State financial aid regulations and external financial aid management systems (COD, NSLDS, SAIG, etc.) preferred.

* Ability to work collaboratively with members of LaGuardia's Information Systems and Technology areas as well as Student Financial Services staff.

* Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft, MS Windows, MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project preferred.

* Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and technical skills preferred.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Plans, develops and implements financial aid policies and processes in accordance with Federal, State and University standards.

* Manages financial aid activities and represents the office at on-campus and off-campus meetings and forums

* Manages day-to day administrative and systems operations for optimal efficiency and customer service; manages special processes such as Return of Title IV Aid

* Provides comprehensive financial counseling to parents and students

* Implements all necessary processes to support financial aid application, awarding and delivery cycles

* Oversees the coordination of financial aid activities with those of other College and University offices

* Implements and maintains web based services

* Performs related duties as assigned.
