POSITION DETAILS

This position will report directly to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management in the Admissions Office at The City College of New York.

In addition to the duties above, the Assistant Director of Admissions for Scholarships:

* Identifies and recruits students to receive donor-funded scholarships based on competitive academic merit.

* Works with students applying for specialized programs such as Macaulay Honors College, City College Honors Program and Grove Engineering Honors Program to communicate scholarship offerings.

* Works with the Director of Admissions to develop a marketing plan to attract qualified candidates to CCNY's scholarships for new students and identifies potential scholarship recipients from the pool of newly accepted students.

* Serves as chair of college-wide scholarship committee.

* Updates student information system and scholarship database, and notifies pertinent departments of awards and changes.

* Identifies appropriate candidates for various awards; coordinates all campus-based scholarships for new and continuing students.

* Compiles, analyzes and disseminates aggregate data on student progress for preparation of reports to donors.

* Gathers biographies and thank-you letters from scholarship recipients for use in donor stewardship.

* Supports the coordination of special events/receptions for recipients and donors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

Supervises activities in an operational unit supporting Admissions and/or Enrollment.

* Oversees staff activities; plans and monitors employee scheduling and coverage and coordinates training

* Serves as liaison to one or more departments providing student support services, such as Financial Aid

* Coordinates selection process activities such as applications review, verification of information, and timely forwarding of data to other CUNY areas

* Coordinates mailings and other communications

* Monitors activity and reports on both transactions and outcomes

* Completes projects to improve services and enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness

* Performs related duties as assigned.
