Noted for its outstanding faculty, beautiful campus in a vibrant urban environment, and commitment "to be the best," Brooklyn College has been designated one of "America's Best Value Colleges" by the Princeton Review for many years. The Princeton Review recently cited the College as one of the "Best Colleges in the Northeast".
The Academic Program Specialist will join the staff of Brooklyn College's Graduate Center for Worker Education (GCWE), located at 25 Broadway in Lower Manhattan. The GCWE is an interdisciplinary educational facility dedicated to the promotion of teaching, research and community partnerships. The GCWE supports academic programs and course offerings, both credit and non-credit, which are of interest to working adults in the Lower Manhattan community and to students at Brooklyn College.
The GCWE facilitates special events, such as conferences, symposia, and workshops in coordination with Brooklyn College departments, interdisciplinary programs, and continuing education programs. Course offerings at the GCWE include both degree-granting and non-credit classes and workshops scheduled during the day, in the evening, and on weekends. These offerings address the needs of working adults seeking advanced study to improve their career, or new career, opportunities. For additional information: www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/GCWE.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Academic Programs, the Academic Program Specialist participates in academic and administrative efforts for a wide range of noncredit, credit, and workforce development programs in the GCWE:
* Support students enrolled in noncredit programs, assisting with registration and advising activities and working closely with college offices and departments to resolve related issues

We do a lot with little - and imagine that the right candidate is able (and enthusiastic) to do the same.
Four years work experience in higher education (or, alternatively, some type of customer-focused environment) is preferred, as is experience with social media platforms and facility with basic desktop publishing and production.
The successful candidate will also have a proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously, work independently and collaboratively, be detail-oriented, collaborate with a broad group of stakeholders, and meet deadlines.
