FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Hunter College is actively seeking a Physical Therapy Department Chair. In addition to teaching duties in area of expertise, the Department Chair ensures that the program maintains and exceeds all Hunter College and accreditation requirements including admissions, curriculum, finance and resources, faculty/student engagement and support and long-range strategic planning. The Department Chair provides leadership and oversees the day-to-day affairs of the department including scheduling of classes and faculty teaching assignments, supports and facilitates clinical research, and coordinates curricular and faculty assessment. The Department Chair represents the department within and outside the college and participates in college-wide and external committees and professional organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS
A PhD or other post entry-level academic doctoral degree in area(s) of experience is required. Minimum of five years of academic experience with leadership experience and a passion for the enhancement of the department and profession. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in communication, leadership, teaching and scholarship, and an ability to work well with all stakeholders. The ideal applicant will have experience in curriculum development, scholarship, program assessment, and mentoring faculty and students. Licensed or eligible for physical therapist licensure in New York State.
