I bid you adieu 2015

Year over year the journey of my life gives me a different and beautiful encounters of experience, wisdom and mellowness. The year 2015 is coming to an end and here I would like to convey my reputes and confess about the encouraging and disheartening episodes happened to me.

“2015, you have been a marvelous year for me. You have brought many beautiful moments and surprises to me, Alhumdulillah (“All the praises and thanks be to Allah”)

Starting the first day of the year, 1st Jan 2015, we celebrated our 10 years of friendship, love and togetherness. Yes, it was our 10th wedding anniversary, Alhumdulillah. We had our loved ones and the near and dear ones too with us to elevate the auspiciousness of the day. An icing on the cake was a surprise visit of my beloved brother’s visit from the UAE. He made it for a couple of days just to wish us on our anniversary but we lived those 2 days at its fullest. I can still visualize and cherish each and every minute of those two day which ended with a grand Lebanese dinner at the Sheraton’s .

The traveller side of me got all of Kerala this year. It started with Allepey with a wonderful houseboat stay, Cochin-the queen city of the Arabian sea and Thekkady sanctuary where I got a chance to experience an Elephant ride. Later in the year, when my father visited us after almost 3 years it was again a Kerala trip to my favourite holiday resort, The Leela Kovalam where I can spend just sitting in the patio sipping tea and adoring the mesmerizing view of the sun setting down in the vast Arabian sea.

Another important event of the year was when I got a chance to do my second Umrah along with my parents. Though it was a tough decision to leave apple of my eyes with my hubby for almost 15 days, but it paid off as I could get a focused and dedicated time for worship and devotion. My long time wish of visiting the Mecca and Medina with my parents and brother came true this year.

Regarding new acquaintances, I have a bucket list of people who I would like to meet atleast once in my life. I am glad that I could get started and tick few this year. I got a chance to not only meet but also spend a quality time with 3 of my favorite ace Chefs. Chef Vikas Khanna at his book launch named “Shaken and Stirred”, Chef Ranveer Brar at a couple of Godrej events and Chef Saransh Goila at his book launch named “India on my Platter”. Last but not the least from the list is another interesting and charming personality, Mr. Sid Khullar who is the primary possessor and editor of the famous “Chef At Large” group. There are few more names whom I met and they became an important part of my life. One of them is Devyani S Rathore who is also a member of Chef At Large and came all the way from Indonesia to meet us in Bangalore. An interesting and compassionate person is Saina Jayapal, who first gave me the opportunity to meet Chef Vikas and then went on to become my best buddy in the culinary world. She also got me introduced to one of India’s leading photographer Sanjay Ramachandran who has so much to teach and I have so much to learn from him. Some of my special besties whom I met are my favourites, Simi Jois (M) and Ambica Selvam.Wonderful moment was spent with my dear friends Jyothi Rajesh, Jayashri Ravi, Madhuri Aggarwal and Richa Gupta whom I met for the first time. A visit to Mumbai also gave me the chance to share special moments with the renowned runner up of MasterChef India – 2015, Neha Deepak Shah.

“Cubes N Juliennes” was not left behind due to my travel but instead got its long time pending uplift with a totally new look and feel. I planned and switched to my own hosting and wordpress theme to present and share in my preferred way. Though a little late but it was still on time to earn an identity in the virtual digital world by launching www.farrukhazizansari.com, my portfolio. Farrukh Aziz Photography has a collection of the best of my shots for one to get into a spell bound state just gawking at them.

Well, now coming to the most critical turning point of 2015 for me – Taking up Food Styling and Food photography as a profession. I dint realize this was coming, when my passion would transform into a profession and I would start loving it more and more. So, the good has always been happening to me, Alhumdilillah, and it continued when I got an opportunity to work with a distinguished personality in the culinary sphere and the surprise would be out soon InShaAllah. Everytime, I took up a new project, be it a 5-star hotel or a start up, I started indulging in deep love with my work. I pray to Allah that he continues to shower HIS Blessings and mercy on me. A proud feeling arose when I was featured with my selected Recipes in the Deccan Herald, Bangalore.

Cubes N Juliennes continued with a constant pace and my dedicated attention and time but I started venturing into new horizons of collaborations too. My association with Urban Spice, BetterButter, KitchenAid India and Archana’s Kitchen came at the right time to further earn me recognitions and followers.
