Work Year:     12 months; attendance at Sunday Masses required.

Salary:             Commensurate with Archdiocesan Guidelines

Requirements:

·         Masters in Pastoral Studies or comparable ministerial experience

·         Ability to organize and coordinate Catholic liturgy

·         Proven ability to organize and work well with people, including fundraising

·         Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate religious instruction for elementary and high school age parishioners, as well as the Salome Scholarship Program and supervise Coordinator of Family Ministry.

·         Coordinate Religious Education opportunities for adults in the parish.

·         Serve as Saint James’ Campus Minister by providing opportunities for catechesis and fellowship among students at area colleges (Illinois Institute of Technology; Illinois College of Optometry; Vandercook College; Shimer College) on campuses and at Saint James.

·         Coordinate meetings of Evangelization Board and oversee all committees and organizations that report to Board.

·         Direct Zeb’s House, Saint James’ Young Adult Ministry.

·         Help coordinate aspects of Sunday worship (such as greeters, new parishioner registration, etc.) to ensure a peaceful and vibrant worship environment.

·         Work with Evangelization Board, as well as other Saint James Staff, to create and promote Eucharistic and non-Eucharistic worship opportunities (not only during regular Sunday Masses) that will attract potential new members (these worship events should be directed at groups such as University Catholic Alumni, former Saint James School Alumni, new neighborhood residents, etc.)

·         Maintain census data base of parishioners, students and friends.

·         Reports to and works closely with the Pastor, including organizing a fundraising event to support evangelization efforts.
