According to Pt. Nehru, children are like the buds in garden and should be grown with lots of love and care. Proper guidance and education should be the most priority for them as they would lead our country in future and can take it to the heights of success. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was immensely fond of children and children were also very affectionate by pt. Nehru and they call him with love as “Chacha Nehru”

SYMBOLIC OF ROSE IN THE POCKET - Chacha Nehru was fond of Red rose. He always wore a Red rose in his pocket. He wore it until he took his last breath. He compares the simplicity and beauty of the children with roses. According to him children are as beautiful and innocent as the roses. All children love him very much and he is popularly known as Nehru Chacha among the children. So he always carries a red rose in his pocket which is symbol of beauty and simplicity.

It was Nehru who established the prestigious educational institutions -- Indian Institutes of Technology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Indian Institutes of Management and National Institutes of Technology.

Children’s Day is a day to engage in fun and frolic. But it is not just that. This day reminds everyone to renew their commitment towards the welfare of the children and to teach them to live by Chacha Nehru’s ideals. And for grown-up people, it is an occasion to imbibe the qualities of childhood.

On this occasion let us also remember those children who are sick, abused and unhappy. Remember that as children:

You have the right to be looked after by parents and family.

You have the right to have healthy food.

You have the right to feel safe at home and school.

You have the right to good  education.

And when you are disabled or sick, you have the right to special care.

Dear students, please remember that Children’s Day is an occasion to imbibe the values of discipline, sense of order, cleanliness, beauty, and above all, innocence.
