The culmination of the CrossFit Games season takes place this weekend. Actually, scratch that. It started yesterday. The 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games, originally scheduled to begin on Friday morning and continue through Sunday, began yesterday with an unexpected and unprecedented full day of competition involving a grueling off-road triathlon at Camp Pendleton followed by a (bracketed) obstacle course competition. A scored long jump was also on the agenda for yesterday but was postponed for unknown reasons. Nonethless, three scored events are already in the books.
No spectators or live footage were allowed at Camp Pendleton, so most were unable to see the action first hand. However, this turn of events really has me excited for the remainder of the weekend. Tomorrow is officially a rest day for the athletes but you can check out the action starting Friday.
For those that were lucky enough to get their hands on some tickets, have fun watching it live at the Home Depot Center this weekend. For everyone else, you’re not completely out of luck. General Admission tickets are sold out, but single-day limited access spectator tickets are available for purchase here.
There are also several ways to follow the action from afar. Anything and everything CrossFit Games can be found at games.crossfit.com. You can also watch the Games live on ESPN3 at the times below. Everything played on the jumbotron at the HDC will also be streamed live here. Finally, you can catch live footage of all the Masters competition here.
You can also find the score and rank of each Individual, Masters, and Team by event on the Leaderboard. This will be updated as results become available throughout the weekend.
Not all workouts have been released, but if they have, you can find them on the Competition page along with other good info including the competition schedule and event details.
Last but not least, videos and articles can be found in the News and Media section. There is bound to be footage of Games events here as the weekend goes on.
