18 Gift Ideas for your Favorite CrossFitter

Written by Kim McLaughlin

The holiday season is in full swing and many of us are still looking for the perfect gift ideas for our loved ones. In order to help some of you either spice up your own personal Christmas list or find the perfect present for someone else in the CrossFit community, here’s a list of a few items that would make any CrossFitter’s holiday special.

1. CrossFit Apparel – We all love the gear and Invictus has plenty of it for purchase. Anything from headbands, t-shirts, tanks and sweatshirts to hats, bracelets, beanies and shoes – we’ve got it embroidered or printed with the Invictus logo on it. If you or your loved one has already purchased everything in our store, there are plenty of other places you can find great CrossFit apparel. Pop Your Hips apparel is locally owned (by two of our very own Invictus members) and they have unique and creative tanks and t-shirts for every gym go-er. A quick trip to a Reebok or Lululemon store will also provide a large selection of CrossFit gear for you to create the perfect outfit.

2. Jewelry – Check out these cute Etsy fitness-themed necklaces, key chains and charms.

3. Subscriptions to Stretch and Mobilize – Who couldn’t use a little more help mobilizing and stretching? How about a monthly subscription to ROMWOD or Mobility WOD?

4. Semi-Private or Private Sessions – We can all use a little help with one or more movements and what better way to work on that than with some personal attention from one of the amazing coaches at Invictus? You can set up your loved one with private sessions for $100 each or semi-private sessions for $50 each. Not sure whether your special someone would prefer a one-on-one or a semi? Invictus also offers gift certs in any amount that can be applied to coaching, apparel or membership.

5. Gift Certificates – Target and Walmart gift certificates are boring – think nutrition and paleo for these. A gift certificate to places like Whole Foods or Sprouts could take care of groceries for a week! If they are people who like to dine out, what are the healthy options out there? Try a gift certificate to a place like Burger Lounge or Tender Greens.

6. Books – Let your CrossFitter get their learn on with some interesting reads. Take a look at books like: Supple Leopard by Dr. Kelly Starrett, Freestyle Method by Carl Paoli, Never Let Go by Dan Jon, and How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy by Paul Chek. For a limited time, if you order any of them from Amazon.com, use the code: BOOKDEAL25 at check out for an extra 25% off.

7. Cookbooks – Even with all of the online recipes available, I still use actual paper cookbooks for my meal prep ideas every week. Some of my personal favorites include: Everyday Paleo by Sarah Fragoso, Performance Paleo by Stephanie Gaudreau, Paleo by Season by Pete Servold (owner of Pete’s Paleo), Paleo Kitchen  and OMG. That’s Paleo by Juli Bauer, and Primal Cravings by Brandon Keatley. That same coupon code (BOOKDEAL25) will work to get 25% off any of the prices on these cookbooks on Amazon as well.

8. Jump Rope – A good jump rope is a necessary piece of equipment for all CrossFitters. Some great places to look for custom ropes are at RPM Ropes or RX Jump Ropes. You can also find a few options on many of the main sites like Rogue Fitness.

9. Wrist Wraps and Knee Sleeves – Accessories for lifts? Yes, please! Check out Strength Wraps or any of the Harbinger wraps for the wrists. As far as knee sleeves go, read up on one our past blogs to figure out which type of sleeve your athlete needs.

10. Supplements - Protein Powder, Omega 3s, Magnesium, Vitamin D…there’s a lot to choose from in this category. For protein powder – any of the Stronger Faster Healthier proteins that are sold at Invictus are organic, grass-fed and free of a lot of the unhealthy sugars that can be found in other proteins. If whey bothers you, check out the vegetarian protein options on the Triton Nutrition website.  For fish oil, magnesium and D3s we have all of them available from PurePharma in the gym or you can find other options on the Triton Nutrition website.

11. Order Pre-Made Paleo Food – This takes all of the work out of the nutrition part of staying healthy and fit. For those of us that find it difficult to carve out the time to pre-prep food for the week, Pete’s Paleo is a great gift. Buy your athlete a week, a month, or just a few a la cart items (like their bacon…it’s AMAZING). The best part is that they deliver all of the food to the gym every Thursday!

12. At Home Mobility Equipment – Foam rollers, lacrosse balls, bands, voodoo floss – all of these are must haves for any CrossFitter.

13. Organic Grass Fed Beef – Visit your local farmer’s market and pick up some great meat options. You can’t beat locally raised, organic, and grass-fed meat! Invictus has recently set up a partnership with Sonrise Ranch so if you don’t have a farmer’s market close by or the time to walk around and look at all of the options, check out their website and make an order.

14. Homemade Nut Butter and Apples Gift Basket – This is your opportunity to Pinterest an amazing gift. Get creative with your mason jars, homemade nut butters and apple arrangements.

15. Paleo Magazine Subscription – The paleo lifestyle has caught on and it’s now so mainstream that they’ve started to produce a print magazine dedicated to it. Inside you can find ideas for recipes, paleo hygiene products, and information on nutrition and healthy living. An entire year for your loved one (6 issues) is only  $29.95.

16. Paleo Treats – They’re delicious and would make great stocking stuffers.

17. Pay for entry to a local competition, Spartan race, Ragnar, Mud Run, or 10K – However your CrossFitter uses their functional fitness, a great gift is a promise to pay for their next activity.

18. Recovery is just as important as the work done in the gym – Get a gift certificate for an ART Massage session with Tara Parsons or Heidi Fearon or an Acupuncture or Massage session with Ian or Ryan. Regardless of the time spent on those lacrosse balls and foam rollers, nothing beats a session with one of these professionals. CJ likes to say “You can brush your teeth all you want but you still need to go in and get a professional cleaning with the dentist a few times a year. Body work is the same.”

Good luck and happy shopping!
