Our client, a multinational electronics company is recruiting for a young and dynamic Export Account Specialist

Role overview:
Export Account Specialist processes orders for materials or merchandise from direct customer contact. Maintains customer files with sales contracts and other information. Gives price quotations, completes order sheets, and checks the price and quantity of each item listed. Distributes order sheets to respective departments. May coordinate with departments regarding order status, shipping dates, prices, product availability and back orders.

Key responsibilities include the collection, management, and resolution of outstanding invoices from past due accounts. Interfaces with account managers and accounts receivable in reconciling accounts. Responsible for ensuring legal compliance and providing import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations. Reviews contracts for required clauses and identifies omissions. Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, custom and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Works with carrier/forwarder for shipment of products and prepares documents for freight forwarders.

Specific responsibilities include:
1. Order Processing 50%

Determine and define customer requirements for product from the point of initial customer engagement.
Process customer requirements, maintaining ownership for process completion to ensure customer and Company’s requirements are satisfied. Processing includes responsibility for:
• Analyzing customer ordering patterns to determine inventory requirements and restrictions.
• Manipulating ATP factors and coordinating with Logistics and other sales areas to meet all customer delivery schedules.

Process returns, freight claims, and credits/debits. Maintain up-to-date customer data in order to process customer requests for product.
• Coordinate customer delivery requirements with Logistics..
• Research and respond to customer requirements for information using a variety of tools (order, delivery, sales lists and reports)..
• Process authorized returns..
• Accept customer orders by a variety of means (phone, fax, EDI, etc.)..
• Manage inventory availability and influence ATP factors..
• Maintain partner functions to meet changing customer billing, shipping, and payer requirements..
• Process customers’ requests for discounts, promotions, pricing exceptions..
• Process freight claims resulting in debits or credits..
• Responsible for process completion..
• Follow up on order process to ensure customer requirements are met..
• Field questions about pricing and taxes..

2. Relationship Building 20%

The account specialist is the internal customer service contact. By meeting operational requirements and by working with customers to solve problems, the account specialist builds long-term customer relationships to establish Bose as a value added vendor.

As internal customer service contact, the account specialist participates in sales team activities, provides input to the customer business plan, and coordinates activities of other service providers to meet customer requirements.
• Build relationships with customers, provide liaison with customer, act as sounding board for customer issues.
• Possess ability to balance needs of customer and Company’s.
• Act as internal interface between customer and the Company.
• Work with other departments to determine and meet customer requirements.
• Participate in sales team activities and events.
• Work with sales representatives.
