Description and Desired Qualifications
Electrical & Mechanical Engineer - Abu Dhabi, UAE
Job Purpose:
The role is for a E & M Engineer and will oversee mechanical systems including plumbing & sewage, fire fighting, irrigation, HVAC and Electrical works
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
It is envisaged that the right individual will have a broad understanding of all high level mechanical systems including plumbing & sewage, fire fighting, irrigation, HVAC experience & all high level electrical systems experience
Oversee Mechanical and Electrical inspectors, as provided by others, as necessary for Low Voltage and MEP electrical works
Supervision of contractor and control of quality on a daily basis. Review of contractor’s material, shop drawing and method statement submissions for conformance with contract documents
Ensure that works are constructed in accordance with the design and contract documentation
Liaison with the client, contractor and design consultant representatives. Review Contractor’s installation method statements re Mechanical works.
Assist in preparation of daily, weekly and monthly progress reports
Attend inspections to ensure that works are constructed in accordance with the contract documentation and method statements
Liaison with the contractor on all construction related matters
Maintain photo and written diaries to record daily works
Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Engineering Degree (preferably Mechanical or Electrical) with over 10 years relevant experience in mechanical systems including plumbing & sewage, fire fighting, irrigation, HVAC and electrical systems works specializing in infrastructure
Significant relevant experience on site, ideally on large scale projects in the Middle East
Needs a clear understanding of the Client focused approach
Must take active steps for training and self-development,
Should be capable of building trust in works relations.
