The 85th edition of the Spanish Liga BBVA is on and getting speedy with each coming week. The season started on 22 August 2015 and will conclude on 15 May 2016, giving the fans another fully action-packed football season. FC Barcelona are the defending champions having snatched the title last time from Real Madrid, with a mere 2 point’s difference. The 2015-16 La Liga season is featured with 20 teams, including 17 from the last season and two top sides promoted from Segunda División.
The 2015-16 season is already in its 7th week and has witnessed some major upsets, causing tremendous transformation in La Liga standings. The defending champions Barcelona have lost their two games in 7 matches, however their major loss is getting Lionel Messi injured. The Argentinian got damaged during the match against Las Palmas earlier this week. It has been officially stated by the club that the striker will be out of action for at least a month. Having lost to two sides already, Leo Messi’s injury has furthered the Camp Nou side’s problems which has yet to face the arch rivals Real Madrid.
The other giants of the league, Real Madrid on the other hand have managed to avoid any loss under the fresh management of Rafael Benitez. Despite losing 2 valuable points in the first ever game of the season against the newly promoted side, the Los Blancos side displayed courageous game in afterwards matches. With Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema finding the nets frequently the side is hoping to regain the top position on the table.
