Well well well.

We all know I like food but I never thought in a million years I would get the opportunity to try food in a restaurant for my blog! I was lucky enough to be contacted last month and once I was back in UK from my trip to America I couldn't wait to venture into something new and do indeed a restaurant review! I think it's a nice little pop from the usual beauty reviews.

As always - just because I had the chance to eat for free it doesn't mean I am gonna lie and make stuff up. These are 100% my own opinions and trust me when I say this - I'm quite a picky eater and a tough person to be with when choosing places to dine at!

The restaurant in question is the Kuti's Royal Thai Pier, in Southampton.

The Location

The Royal Thai Restaurant is located around 20 minutes (walking distance) from Southampton Central (Railway) Station. It's not too hard to reach - it's situated right by The Docks. It can be a little tricky if you don't know the city well but nowadays thanks to smart phones you can find anything! Thankfully my boyfriend had a "mind-map" so we didn't even need phones in this case, just his impeccable memory!

The venue is literally by the sea - you can see the water and the big cruise ships. We got there in the evening and the sunset view was absolutely magical! I would say this is an amazing location for romantic dates too so, Gentlemen..take notes! They also have a balcony so it's perfect for summer days too, when you want to stay outside and feel the breeze. The building itself is very majestical, big and makes a statement when surrounded by the boring odds and sods of Southampton.

The Customer Service

Believe it or not I think this is almost more important than the food. This is the experience. If you're a little bit put off by fancy places because sometimes you think that the people working there may look down on you, you don't need to worry. At all. I always ask friends and family about the waiters and the general vibe and it happens quite often that people may feel a little out of place. In this restaurant I felt so relaxed and I was treated like a little princess. They really do deliver their best.

The Food

Now, this is what most people are curious about.

You wanna know how the food was.

Let me tell you, it was AMAZING.

The portions were big, everything tasted fresh, looked put together and was absolutely dreamy!

This is what we had:

STARTER
A selection of authentic Thai starters consisting of vegetable spring rolls, minced prawns on toast, chicken satay, spicy fish cake and marinated chicken wings with various dips.

This was so tasty! There was a little bit of everything and you could easily mix and match and eat things you like more than others. My favourites were the veggie spring rolls and the chicken satay! An explosion of awesomeness in my mouth.

I would definitely suggest going with a mixed started if you're a little unsure or want to try everything!

MAIN COURSE
- PED GRATIUM
Deep-fried duck in garlic-pepper sauce served with fresh coriander.

- GAENG KIEW WAN GAI
Chicken in green curry with bamboo shoots and aubergines flavoured with sweet basil and coconut milk.

- PHAD THAI GAI (N)
Fried Thai noodles with chicken
and bean sprouts, served with chopped leek and sweet turnips.

- KHAO SUAY
Steamed Thai fragrant rice.

{JASMINE TEA OR COFFEE}

The PHAD THAI GAI was the most delicious plate of noodles I have had in UK ever since leaving Thailand! I was a little on the edge because I am really picky with my noodles but this time I was more than impressed!

I was also obsessed with the spicy green curry! I ate it with rice and chicken and it made my mouth even more watery. It was an absolute bomb! It's not super spicy but definitely something that will make you go a little HOT.

Overall my experience here was extremely positive and If you're into Thai & Indian food then this is the place to visit! I will definitely be going back here soon!
