Like any business, people come and then move on for a variety of reasons. It is always sad to see people leave, as we are such a close knit team here at Creative and we strive for an inspiring and fun working environment together. So, we have said goodbye to Vicky and we thank her greatly for the hard work and enthusiasm she brought to our team, clients and the events she ran.
Helen has now joined the company and, in only a few weeks, has slotted in perfectly. Coming from an events background has meant that learning the office processes and understanding how we describe, then ultimately run our activities, has taken very little time. We are so pleased to have Helen on board and she is doing a fantastic job already.
Our industry is all about spontaneity and on-the-job training and so, on her very first day, we whisked her away to Leeds to observe a Haka event in a wonderful country estate, which also (randomly) had its own penguin enclosure. This is what Helen had to say about her very first day and first weeks in the world of Creative Team Events.
“With an extensive background in the events world, I have learnt to be prepared for anything and to expect surprises. My first day included being blessed by a tribal Maori Leader and watching a group of delegates being transformed into a Haka tribe, which included shirts being passionately removed, chest beating and much posturing. With the addition of seeing penguins in their new habitat, it would be fair to say this was not your average first day!”
“Since then, I have personally experienced drumming and Crashing Waiters events and have immersed myself in the full range of other activities. My personal skepticism about just how much participants would involve themselves in team activities was literally blown out of the water in my first few days. At all the events I witnessed, the infectious enthusiasm of our facilitators rubbed off so quickly that even those most determined to not get involved found themselves laughing along and ultimately surprising themselves with their inability to resist joining in.”
“At the end of each event, the strong handshakes and heartfelt praise from participants (the like of which I have never seen and heard before) confirmed that the emotions I felt just from watching were even greater for those taking part!”
“Back in the office, I have been afforded the opportunity to get my creative juices flowing to create unique experiences for clients. This is hugely rewarding. To know that your clients are going to be overjoyed with the finished events makes this part of my job an absolute joy. I am thrilled to be a part of the team and I look forward to speaking with you soon, and hopefully meeting you on a future event!”
