Woo! I loved the original run but there were some problems with like... 5 people who joined and then never posted. Or posted once and then left CF forever. It was fairly damaging.
Anyhoo, I would once again like to join with Pete Girly, a charming, good-natured fellow who wants to make the world a better place for everyone.

Name/Nickname: Pete Girly.
Species: Human.
Gender: Male.
Age: 34 years.
Class: Swordsman

Appearance: As his name suggests, Pete has very effeminate features. He is a slender, delicate, somewhat tall man. He has soft lips and a rather small nose, and deep blue eyes, but his most outstanding feature is his long, curly hair, with the colour of a sun setting over a northern sea. Apart from that, Pete has no facial hair, and not even signs that he has ever needed to shave. His skin is smooth and untouched by blemishes and scars and beard stubbles. Pete lacks a noticeable adam's apple.

Clothing: Pete dresses light and colourfully, in the foppish, expensive way you would expect. He tends to also keep the top of his shirt unbuttoned, exposing a perfectly hairless chest.
His boots are made for functionality, though, and are good, sturdy and made for walking on the dusty roads or through wet, muddy fields.

Likes: Wandering, fencing, music, looking at stars, scheming and milk.

Hates: Alcohol and boredom.

Weaponry: Pete carries around a rapier with an intricate hand-guard. The sword was enchanted by the blacksmith Vrael (2.2Zenith) to be able to pierce stone and steel, as well as being able to socket gems very easily. The hand-guard has 52 gemstones socketed into it, of various colours and sizes.
As a native of the Darmlands, and a wealthy man, Pete has been able to afford a pistol with three shots in it, however he is unskilled with it and uses it only for emergencies, much preferring to use his sword whenever possible.

Other Items: A leather belt with multiple pouches. A backpack for his other stuff.

Strengths:
Master swordsman.
Ruthless cunning.
Very good method actor.

Weaknesses
Physically frail
Limited skill set. Pete has no training beyond fencing and manipulation.
No etiquette. Pete's homeland was savage and without nobility. He never learned how to blend in to high society, and his understanding of being polite and fancy comes from watching theatre plays.
No understanding of magic or the supernatual. His homeland was almost entirely free of monsters and mages, so in the new lands Pete is consistently underestimating magic, or fails to sufficiently include it in his calculations.

History: Pete Girly is a Darmlander from the continent of Knelmarter, which in my continuity is across the sea from the typical Rp'ing continents. The continent of Knelmarter is generally characterized by a lack of magic, and the countries tend to have strong military cultures. The Darmlands are the most violent, but least militaristic, since there is no central government(s). Rather it is a medieval Wild West sort of setting, where wars are constant and territories are consistently taken over by warlords, who then desperately cling to them for a few years, or sometimes just months, before being overthrown by new warlords. Mercenaries are common as dirt, and the 42 most famous, expensive and deadly mercenaries are called Ronin. An unaffiliated group that rarely works together, and there is no person more dangerous in the Darmlands than one of these 42. Pete Girly is a Ronin.
Precious little has been revealed about Pete's background in the Darmlands, except his Ronin status which explains his exorbitant wealth. Pete was the only Ronin to use a warband, rather than work solo missions. He was a skilled tactician and gained fame chiefly by offering himself to the losing side of a conflict where the sides were of almost equal strength. This allowed Pete's forces to tip the balance, and let himself take far more credit than he had actually contributed. He maintained a reputation of trustworthiness, as he made it a point to not betray his employers, unless they skimped on his payment.
It is possible Pete's father was a well-off astrologist, and taught Pete about the stars, however if so it is unlikely Pete was born and raised in the Darmlands, where such people are not considered useful. Either Pete's grew up elsewhere in Knelmarter, possibly the Northern, religious Temple Lands, or he just made up the tale to gain sympathy and respect from another character, who did believe in fate.
For unknown reasons Pete has left the Darmlands and travelled across the sea to join in Rp's across the world.

It should be noted that while the Ronin have a rock star celebrity status in the Darmlands, that is a place far removed from this Rp setting, geographically. As such, probably not a lot of people will know of him, the Ronin or recognize him. But if you wish to say your character has knowledge of him, feel free. It's just not something most would know.
