Hello!

From those who saw the general update found here, we are currently looking to fill some gaps among our staffing ranks. This time, rather than come up with a list, we're doing things a bit differently.

We're letting you put your name forward.

If you feel as though you're qualified to do the tasks listed below for a position, feel free to apply to the groups. Then, send me a message (since I get no notification and am terrible at checking), and we'll do an interview. Your answers to the questions I ask will determine if you're given the position you seek, bumped up to another, or if we're not quite the right fit at this moment in time. Should you not get the position you seek this time around, that's not to say you can't apply at a later date.

MENTOR:
This group is made up of those who assist new members into becoming settled in the site, welcoming and greeting them into our family, as well as help established members should they need it. Examples of things that could be needed are as follows.

Explain the rules, for both the newer and older members alike.

Explain the basics of RP and certain styles, should the member not understand, or be wholly new.

Help a member figure out where to post something, whether it be just content-related questions or if they're unsure of where to post given the requirements for each section.

Approve posts in the queue in the "Introduction" forum, thereby approving new members.

Write a greeting for each introduction posted, just to say hello, and familiarize the members with whom they can reach out to should questions arise.

Of those this list is only some of what a mentor does. They are a moderator, though they specifically focus on the "Introduction" forum, and, as such, are the first line of defense when a problem arises. If a problem does arise, Mentors would be the first person to contact, unless they aren't around at the time and the problem is of a more urgent nature.

MODERATOR:
Moderators are the next step up from a MENTOR, and have a few more responsibilities (though some of those responsibilities do overlap). Where MENTORS specifically focus on one forum, a Moderator will be assigned one or two specific forums to watch for content, and requirements. Should you have a preference, you can request a certain forum to watch over, but there are expectations that come along with each forum.

Approve posts in the queue, some of which are spanning the forums.

Make sure the standards are being met within the forum you're assigned to. Sentence count, content and the like all come into play here.

Write up reports pertaining to incidents, forum moderation and chat discrepancies included.

Send out messages to those that aren't meeting standards within a roleplay, or are breaking one of the other rules we have in place.

Keep an eye on chat.

As previously stated, MODERATORS and MENTORS do overlap. Like their cohorts, the MODERATORS are expected to be able to answer questions, direct members where they need to be, and diffuse situations. They are the next in line to contact if a member has an issue and, if they are unavailable, then you'd contact the next position in line.

GLOBAL MODERATORS:
GLOBAL MODERATORS are the next step up from MODERATORS. Like those before this one, their responsibilities overlap. Though they do have a specific forum assigned to watch for standards and content, they also have the arduous task of helping to take out spambots. Like those posts from new members, posts from Spambots linger in the queue as they never write up "Introduction" posts and get approved. That said, it's the GM's job to help ban them until such time one of the ADMINISTRATORS can take them out completely.

What was outlined in this post for each position is the bulk of what needs to be done, however there will be odds and ends that pop up from time to time.

The biggest need that we have for these positions, that spans from Mentors up...is time. That's become the Achilles' Heel of our staffing as a whole. We know that things in real-life take precedent, but a few minutes here or there really make a difference and allows CF to run as smoothly as possible. We need people who are willing to devote the time to cover their forum, to answer questions, to watch chat. This isn't an all-day commitment, but is needed for more than once a week, or every few days.

At this moment, the only two groups you can apply for are MENTOR and MODERATOR. Where MODERATORS are essentially the same as GLOBAL MODERATORS, apply for the former and, after the interview, if we feel you're better suited to be bumped up, then we'll add you to that group instead.

Please remember to send me a message just letting me know you've applied and for what you've applied, and we'll get the interview process going.

Thank you in advance for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you,
