Mimi looked at him through her tight bundle. She wasn't at all blue. She had been nice and toasty warm. Thanks to her daddy she was alright. She cooed and babbled cutely in baby a bit then fell silent. Just watching him and cooing a bit. She was not even a year old but she was brave thanks to her daddy.

Geovanni shivered and his eyes opened. "Th-thank....you..." He said as he heard him move Mimi. He flinched as he was touched. Letting out a yelp of pain and hissed out in agony as the man's arm touched fresh bruises upon his waist. A whimper of pain filled with a dash of fear left him but his lightweight form was easily moved. He was a sexy man despite the fact the fireplace began to glisten and gleam off of shiny bruises from fists and heels. He shivered and chattered. Slowly starting to warm enough to force himself to sit up shakily against something. He pulled Mimi close and began unwrapping her. Smiling in let out a sound of relief as he hugged her close. "You are alright. Not cold at all my darling baby." He said to the little girl. He flinched as he spoke. Setting out the things from the baby bag that needed drying. Mimi resting in her lap. He looked at Mimi. "Saving my daughter's life. I...was running from my abusive ex-fiance. She...she tried to kill Mimi." He said.

Picking his daughter up who had fallen asleep sucking on her fist. "Tried to take my greatest treasure for me. She knows I don't hit women...so I take her abuse. To protect Mimi I would endure torture in another country...so long as my precious daughter was okay. I had gone to work...maybe I shouldn't have. Left her with the nanny. I had a sinking feeling but then the nanny called. I don't think I've flown through a city that fast or that illegally. I was hoping the whole time the nanny was wrong. That...she wasn't trying to kill my baby girl. She...was. She was trying to drown her in one of her psychotic rages. That was the first and last time I have ever put my hands on a woman in anger. Shoved her to save Mimi. I was afraid I'd lost her." he looked at mimi.

"She...she made it. She is a fighter like her mother was. My ex-fiance hated Mimi. Wanted me to get rid of her because she was my first love's. I told her it was over. I could take her abuse of me but I...I couldn't risk Mimi's life. I was blinded by love...and had no courage to leave for myself. So...Mimi is my strength." He was wincing as he had bruises upon his back as well. "I am used to my ex's wrath. I endured it a lot of Mimi." His eyes stayed closed. "I told her it was over. She could keep the ring but the wedding was off. Grabbing the stuffed animal that had been her mothers...mimi clothes and other things she'd need, couple outfits myself and a few other things then took off. Took off in the car Mimi's mother and I had rebuilt after it die when she bought it."

His breathing heavy but the fireplace made it easier to talk. "So we were on the run. Running from a woman who had wealth and fame. I am leaving that life behind. Leaving it all behind. The money...behind. Nothing can bring me happiness except Mimi. I intended to just keep driving until I could vanish to some small little town. Where nobody knew me. Raise Mimi there. Stay under the radar. THen the blizzard started getting worse and worse. Finally my old car just stalled and wouldn't start. Wouldn't turn on."

He opened his eyes tiredly and looked at him. "It was an act of desperation. My only thought was I needed to get Mimi someplace warm. Two options...freeze to death in the car. Or....take my chances that I'll find somewhre to hide in and get Mimi warmth. I gave everything I could to wrap Mimi in layers of warmth. I am in not but a tank and sweats because mimi would die long before I would. Then grabbed the bags and started out. I was more worried about Mimi...than myself. I kept hoping and praying to find somewhere. Then I saw the light of this house when I was thinking I was about to die. Still...Mimi would have had a chance." He said softly. "I took a risk hoping for the best becausee if I had just stayed in the car we would have died anyways. So the best choice was to face the storm with mimi sheltered from the harsh winds and bundled tight. Hope for the best so that Mimi could live."

He closed his eyes again ad held his daughter. Covering in the blanket. THen smelled the hot chocolate. "I'm sorry we intruded on you. Soon as we can we'll leave. I thank you though...for you giving us this sanctuary from the elements. I can help out around here. Clean. Cook. I don't wish to be a freeloader. I'll do my share..." He said seriously. Picking up the hot chocolate. Sipping it. "Thank you for this. I can't believe its almost been a year...since Mimi's mother's death. Her mother and I...we ended up having to just be friends but that was fine with us. I would still have beeni n the child's life. Then fate took her away."
