While looking for ways to revive my last year´s winter coats, I found myself focussing more on the dressy toppers – the long winter coats. Because I´m petite, whenever I wear a long outerwear I always have to complete it with high heels, whether boots or pumps. Here are six looks I´d like to mimic.
Long coat with wide-leg pants. Wide leg pants are coming back as a trend now and I´d like to put my hands on them. If you´re tall, a colored long coat over long wide leg pants would be really flattering. But how about for petite like me? How do I make an illusion of long length albeit the roomy pants´ legs? Create a tonal combination under your topper – white sweater with white flare pants, beige with beige, you get the idea.
Colored long coat with black. For colored long winter coats that hit below the knee, team them up with knee-length black high heel boots. Let the color speak for you, add black accessories such as a great hat and a leather bag.
Long coat for sports luxe – got a pair of modern trousers with sports elements in it? Dress them up with a knit sweater, a long coat, and high heels.

I love the idea of tonal combination beneath a long coat. And because I heart blush colors for winter, I layered a light taupe knit with a beige tapered crepe trouser to peek under a navy wool coat. Since everything in my ensemble is solid, I added snake print shoes.
Patterned long coat with thigh high boots. Length with length is probably the most effortless style idea you can apply with long coats. Wear a patterned outerwear with super sexy thigh high boots. Give definition to your boots by pairing it with leggings in different shade.
Pattern with bright colors. I say over and over again, the best way to shake up your winter wardrobe is by rocking lots of bright colors and stunning pattern. Got a striped long coat? Try it with colored trousers and colored pumps.
Long coats with flat. Now I said earlier I don´t look flattering with long coats and flat shoes. But maybe I should try wearing my coat unbuttoned atop a pair of rolled up jeans and smoking slippers at the end of winter. I´ll let know how this look goes on a petite.
