A digital and creative media agency made it a quadruple award win in as many weeks as the team saw off competition from top names such as Tesco, Microsoft and O2 to win the accolade of Best Use of Online Video at the London Digital Impact Awards.
NÜKO, the new division of Hampshire-based marketing and communications agency Remarkable Group, then went on to take the awards for ‘Best Viral Campaign’ as well as the prestigious ‘Grand Prix’ award at The UK Social Media Communications Awards.
NÜKO went head-to-head in the London Digital Impact Awards shortlist with high level entries from Tesco, O2, Microsoft and Corning Incorporated, and came away from the ceremony last week with another prize to add to its growing collection.
The hugely successful campaign film ‘Homecoming’, which went viral and secured over 800,000 YouTube views in its first week online, was created by NÜKO’s head of film and video, Mike Buonaiuto. You can view the film here.
NÜKO’s ‘Homecoming’ video also won the Best Use of Social Media category in the CIPR Awards Wessex and Channel Islands. It was runner-up in the Viral Communication section of the Digital Communication Awards Europe, and has been shortlisted for the Low Budget category in the Cream Awards.
Digital account director Emily Wilkinson said: “The result is a huge boost for NÜKO and gains us national recognition from what are two of the UK’s largest celebrations of digital communication.
“We are a new and growing agency so to have the power of our work recognised in this way – against such massive names – shows we are making a big impact and achieving great things for our clients.”
Remarkable Group chief executive Stephen Pomeroy said: “This video is a formidable example of how to grab the attention of hundreds of thousands of people to help force a campaign issue up the political agenda.
“We’re very proud of these awards which is an achievement reflecting the dedication, talents and vision of our team at NÜKO, and their ability to take on such a wide variety of subjects.”
NÜKO was launched this summer as part of the Remarkable Group in Winchester. It was formed by uniting into one team the former three sections of digital, video and creative.
