Experience-led creative agency pd3 has been appointed to support the annual fundraising gala Swarovski Whitechapel Gallery Art Plus Fashion on 14th March 2013.

Supported by Swarovski, Art Plus is an annual event at Whitechapel Gallery which explores the dynamic fusion of the visual arts with other mediums including drama, dance, film or music, culminating each year in a one-night only party and performance event.

All proceeds from the event will support the Whitechapel Gallery’s Education programme, bringing arts education and opportunity to young people in London.

Pd3 is supporting the event through a social engagement strategy and content creation, from pre-event through to post-event. The fundraising evening will feature major names from the world of art and fashion including Giles Deacon, Bella Freud, Marios Schwab and Nadja Swarovski, who will select the most promising fashion postgraduates emerging from London to take centre stage in the first ever live catwalk show in the Gallery featuring moving image art - all of which will be captured by pd3’s on-night filming.

To promote the event ahead of the gala, pd3 will work with the Whitechapel Gallery to create an engagement strategy and copy for the Twitter feed of @_ArtPlus, and will be showcasing three teaser trailers in the lead up to the night featuring interviews with artists and jurors choosing the emerging fashion talent showcasing on the night.

The videos will be hosted on the newly created Art Plus Fashion YouTube channel and will feature Bella Freud, Marios Schwab and host Nadja Swarovski being interviewed ahead of the event. These will be released shortly but as a pre-trailer to the trailers, short Vine videos have been created and posted on Twitter accounts including @_ArtPlusto build excitement.

Live music and celebrity DJs will provide the soundtrack to an evening which will feature an auctionby Sotheby’s Oliver Barker featuring work by Vivienne Westwood, Bani Abidi, Andrea Büttner, Minerva Cuevas, Peter Davies and Corinne Day.

Alice Driscoll, MD and partner at pd3 said: “We’ve always been great admirers of Whitechapel Gallery and it is a real honor to be involved with such an amazing event, helping to raise money for a great cause by creating work we love.”
