Designer Julien Macdonald is one of many international designers creating exclusive dog coats and accessories for the abandoned and unwanted canines at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

At the Collars & Coats Gala Ball on Thursday 8 November 2012, the sleek, the shaggy, and the wet nosed will swap their Battersea kennels for the dogwalk to model world exclusive canine couture by Giles Deacon, Ben De Lisi, Faberge, Jeremy Hackett, Henry Holland, Stephen Jones, Derek Lawlor, Julien Macdonald, Stella McCartney, Mulberry, Jenny Packham, Gareth Pugh, Trevor Pickett, Zandra Rhodes, Philip Treacy, Matthew Williamson, and Vivienne Westwood.

The first glimpse of these incredible creations is hotly anticipated and guests at the charity fundraiser will have the first opportunity to bid on the one-off pieces of fashion history which will then be auctioned off in aid of the much loved animal rescue.

Claire Horton, Chief Executive of Battersea said: "This will be the most wonderful and unique fashion fundraiser and we know our dogs will really enjoy it. Front row at Collars & Coats will be the place to be on 8 November and we can’t wait to see Battersea dogs groomed and dressed in canine couture by the most influential and iconic designers from the world. It’s incredible to be working with such world-class talent and we’re immensely grateful to everyone who is supporting our dogs and our cats through this collaboration."

Battersea’s star-studded Collars & Coats Gala Ball is now in its fourth year and this year’s spectacular event will be hosted by Paul O’ Grady MBE and Amanda Holden. At the event, the team from pet lifestyle website, PetsPyjamas, will be on hand to pamper and groom doggy guests in their Very Important Pooches room, a specially created dog-friendly zone.
