I've never had a tattoo. I once got my eyebrow pierced. Partly to annoy my mother, but also because Mike Patton of Faith No More had one and I thought I'd look cool. But piercings tend to be quite temporary in nature. Tattoos are a whole different story. And if you know me personally, you'll know tattoos for me probably aren't a good idea. I change my mind too much. Which is why I'm excited to share today's new discovery - Fickle Tattoos, a temporary tattoo range which transforms the work of award-winning designers and illustrators into body art. I'm talking the likes of Gregori Saavedra, Harriet Russell and Jess Wilson.

The debut range includes 35 tattoos from 14 artists, featured in design collections such as 'Animals', 'Monochrome' and 'Typography'. Ooh I do love a bit of typography. Fickle partnered with a range of illustrators to create the temporary tattoo collection, each with their own distinct style, yet fitting within the Fickle brand. Partnered illustrators and designers were asked to create a range of designs that they felt would work well as wearable art, using any style that they wished; allowing them to break from the usual client work and turn their attentions to an unusual project, expressing their designs through an unconventional medium.

Barcelona born Gregori Saavedra is an internationally renowned illustrator whose artwork has been reproduced in a wide variety of publications across the world, including IdN, Dazed and Confused, Time, Die Ziet, Collins Design and The Gutenberg’s Quarterly. Gregori has created a range of monochrome illustrations for Fickle, including 'Beautiful Fish' and ‘buttearfly’; transforming modern art into wearable body art with a subtle message on contemporary culture.

Some of the most popular designs amongst Fickle to date have been created by illustrator Harriet Russell, who holds an MA in illustration from Central Saint Martins in London and has worked for a variety of clients in the UK, US and Europe including Phaidon press, Penguin books, Harper Collins, Random House, The Guardian and the Independent on Sunday. Her full colour designs capture the essence of party spirit, with fun pop-art style illustrations including ‘cool’ and ‘clueless crossword’ creating tongue in cheek and eye-catching tattoos for any laid-back occasion. Fickle has also partnered with another MA of Central St Martins Charlotte Farmer, a freelance illustrator, who has created a range of animal and typography themed monochrome tattoos viewable here.

The Fickle range also includes designs from graphic designer Jess Wilson, hailing from London, who has previously produced work for Redbull, the Financial Times, Sony and The Guardian. Her designs for Fickle fall within the 'Animals' category of temporary tattoos, and embody full colour illustrations with an animal theme to create eye-catching and unusual body art designs. Currently available to purchase are ‘Butterfly’, ‘Aztec Beetle’ and ‘Moth’, all available to view here.

Fickle is constantly adding creations from new designers to its evolving collections, with all available to view and buy online. Prices start from £5 for a set of two and free UK delivery.
