Restaurateur and long-time hospitality industry expert Jeffrey Yarbrough took over The Cedars Social alongside Chad Boyle, his former business partner at Liberty Noodle. The two have brought together an all-star team to run and revitalize the bar including restaurant and night club veterans Michael Morris of 2826 and Martini Ranch, Dirk Kelcher and Mark Kelcher of Ron’s Place and General Manager Jeremy Poyo. Original barman Michael Martensen will remain a founding partner.

This team alongside land developer Jack Matthews of Matthews Southwest feels that as a part of the Southside community, it is their duty to keep one of the most highly-rated cocktail bars and restaurants Dallas has ever seen alive. They look forward to bringing The Cedars Social back to its fullest potential.

Yarbrough currently runs a PR and marketing agency that caters to the restaurant and hospitality industry, bigInk PR, as well as a commercial real estate and auction company, United Country bigInk Real Estate and Auction Services. Running the PR firm and real estate and auction business will remain his primary day job, but Yarbrough looks forward to overseeing a bar from the ground level again.

“I thought I had retired from running joints like this, but I just can’t stay away,” says Yarbrough. “I love this business, the people, the food, the booze and especially getting to watch people enjoy it all.”

The original vision for The Cedars Social was to create a laid back hang-out with an old-school atmosphere that served great food and had an amazing cocktail program that rivaled any other in the country. Under the new ownership, that vision will stay alive and revitalize itself as new standards of service and business operation are implemented. The restaurant/bar will continue to serve the high-quality craft cocktails and food they are known for.

The Cedars Social is located at 1326 South Lamar and is open every day from 4 – 10pm, as well as brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 3pm.
