As of quite recently, South Florida’s leading real estate firm Terra Group has announced the completion of Grove at Grand Bay by Danish architect, Bjarke Ingels. The winding towers are situated at Miami’s Coconut Grove near Biscayne Bay and this project marks the first luxury residential condominium of the prestigious architect to be achieved in the United States. Providing a 360-degree view, the twisting glass towers have 98 units and 20-stories. When designing this groundbreaking building, Ingels’ main purpose was to combine architecture with sustainability.
According to David Martin, president of Terra, the Grove at Grand Bay serves as “A sanctuary for artists, writers and unconventional thinkers, the Grove has a long history of challenging the status quo—in the same way, Grove at Grand Bay is changing the way Miami thinks about design. We planned and developed this building with the goal of adding value to our neighborhood, so we’re proud that Coconut Grove is enjoying a resurgence while remaining mindful of its colorful past.”

Becoming the first residential project to be asserted in the area for over ten years, its design was implemented taking into consideration the splendorous natural beauty of the district. In the interest of such, the building displays high-priced outdoor living areas that easily flow with the indoors of this architectural masterpiece. In regards to characteristics, each unit is composed of 12-foot custom insulated windows, overhanging elements that act as brise-soleils, and spacious balconies.

Aside from this, Grove at Grand Bay has to offer a wide variety of amenities from rooftop pools to a five-star spa, to a fitness centre, to a full-time concierge and butler service, to a private dining room for residents and guests, and it even has a pet spa. In addition, the building also has an anticipated LEED Gold certification as their installations benefit from energy-saving qualities and low-flow devices and simultaneously they utilise recycled and locally sourced materials creating a more sustainable system.

The gardens and terraces that besiege the building were designed by Raymond Jungles who is renowned for creating innovating and environmentally-friendly landscapes – “The result is a lushly landscaped campus that echoes the tropical beauty of Coconut Grove and promotes sustainability.”
Grove at Grand Bay has received many awards and honours for its development, construction quality, and engineering excellence, just to name a few, the National Council of Structural Engineers Associaton’s (NCSEA) and the 2015, the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the 2015 Award of Merit by Concrete Industry Board’s (CIB), among many others accolades.
