Corporate

Appropriate design is never predetermined; it is the result of an in-depth process investigating the culture, identity and goals of the owner and brand. Our experience has revealed that every aspect of this process is important to achieving a strong design concept.

A strong concept, with a clear focus on the big picture, establishes a set of criteria around which decisions are made and priorities are set. Each project is viewed in its entirety, followed by a concentration on details. Our responsibility is to exceed the client’s goals and expectations by creating a concept that improves functionality, efficiency, flexibility and productivity, without sacrificing design integrity.

Brand culture and identity should be expressed in all aspects of the design. Today, more than ever, design is dictated by a variety of business and aesthetic concerns: identity, culture, attitudes, fashion and financial performance. Thus, a good design is one that complements a brand’s image, addresses operational efficiency and accommodates future changes.

Rottet Furniture Collection

The Rottet Furniture Collection reflects her embrace of sleek lines and contemporary furniture shapes interspersed with traditional materials, such as rattan and wood. The Cubist line includes tables with origami-inspired folded edges and crumpled, faceted planes, while the Montauk Gray line is inspired by Rottet’s midcentury Long Island abode designed by George Nelson, with acrylic bases contrasting against the solid tabletops and chair shells to give them the illusion of floating. It’s not Rottet’s first foray into residential product design – the Evaneau sofa she designed for her own home has been a best-seller for 20 years – but it’s her largest collection to date.

The Most Iconic Projects

The St. Regis Aspen Resort Aspen, CO 189 Keys The St. Regis Aspen Resort retained Rottet Studio to conceptualize a quintessential mountain manor similar to what John Jacob Astor, the visionary behind the St. Regis brand, would have designed during the Gilded Age for the seasoned traveler.

The Resort is the contemporary version of a Gilded Age mountainside manor which provides an uncompromising base for arbiters of fine food and wine, connoisseurs of culture and adventure seekers. The $40 million interior and exterior renovation represents the new standard of luxury design in Aspen and holds true to the style and elegance of the St. Regis brand.

The design is a unique blend of historic luxury and tradition with the unpredictable addition of contemporary art and attitude, underscored by clever furnishings and accessories. The deliberate design and structural updates speak to the sensibilities of Aspen residents and guests.

Interesting Facts about Lauren Rottet

Before she was a design-world darling, Lauren Rottet’s early dreams of success were to be driven to work in a limousine. As it happened, she was just a few years out of college and working as an architect in Chicago when she learned that her landlord worked in the same building that she did and rode in every morning in a limo. Rottet convinced him to let her ride along each day. “I couldn’t afford to eat, but there I was, riding to work in a limo,” said Rottet with a laugh.

Lauren Rottet is a certified architect and designer who possesses a rare energy. She remembers only one time in her childhood complaining of boredom to her mother. Her mother’s response: “How can you be bored when there’s everything in the world to do, go out in the yard and dig a hole?” It was all it took to for Rottet to realize that there was always something to keep her occupied.

Since then, Rottet has been on a blazing course to success. She has received the Designer of the Year award, has become the first woman to ever be both a fellow of the American Institute of Architecture (FAIA) and a fellow of the International Interior Design Association (FIIDA), and she owns the international architecture and design firmRottet Studio.
