Erich Bergen has been added to the cast of Clint Eastwood’s movie musical Jersey Boys.

The actor will portray Bob Gaudi, an original member of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, in the flick about the 60s group’s rise to fame.

The 27-year-old actor had the same part in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas versions of the stage show, in addition to playing the role on a US tour.

Erich is the first to be confirmed for one of the four lead roles in the motion picture.

Christopher Walken was previously announced for the role of mobster Angelo ‘Gyp’ DeCarlo.

John Lloyd Young, from the original Tony Award-winning Broadway production, is expected to reprise his part as Frankie. Other rumoured cast additions include Vincent Piazza as Tommy Devito and Michael Lomenda as Nick Massi.

The real-life Bob Gaudi will be credited for music in the film.

He is known for penning tracks used by Neil Diamond, Nancy Sinatra, Diana Ross and Michael Jackson after bowing out of The Four Seasons.

The singer will now executive produce his story with the band alongside Frankie Valli.

Graham King and Rob Lorenz are producing.

Eric will meanwhile make his debut in a feature this fall in How Sweet It Is with Paul Sorvino and Erika Christensen.

He has appeared in several television series, including Gossip Girl, Person Of Interest, Desperate Housewives, Franklin & Bash and CW pilot Joey Dakota.

Represented by Don Buchwald & Associates and Persona Management, he recently starred as Billy Crocker in the National Tour of Roundabout Theatre Company’s Anything Goes, and was in Hero at the Marriott Lincolnshire as well as Rudi Gernreich in the Los Angeles stage premiere of The Temperamentals.

A production schedule for Jersey Boys has yet to be released.
