My prediction for tomorrow’s Rams game in New England isn’t meant to bash on L.A. However, some realities are just that, realities. The Patriots are worlds better as a team and as an organization. The excellence they display from top to bottom are the envy of the league. They just do it better up and down the chain.

The Los Angeles Rams should take notes.

Lots of them.

As of this posting, ESPN has Los Angeles with a 7.6% chance to beat New England. In layman’s terms, that’s best described as a ‘sliver of a chance’.

Think a “snowball’s chance in hell”.

Again, realities.

This first season in Los Angeles clearly has not gone as hoped for. Despite looking better offensively against New Orleans, this team is nowhere better than the previous four years under Jeff Fisher. I don’t believe the Rams are trying to lose, but seeing the prospects of no change with the head coach doesn’t give me any reason to think they have a good plan for winning.

Up Close & Personal: L.A. should note what winning looks like in New England

Which they don’t.

As for tomorrow, it should be a good measuring stick for the rookie quarterback. Jared Goff will play against a Super Bowl contending team. Conversely, the Rams defense will face Tom Brady and all the appropriate accolades that go with a likely first ballot HOF’er.

Also not to be missed, the coaching matchup between Jeff Fisher and his staff, vs. Bill Belichick and his. One coach is headed to Canton, the other to the history books with an historical losing percentage.

Any guesses on how tomorrow will go?

I do expect a better showing from the Rams defense. As for Goff and the offense, tomorrow is a tall order. Los Angeles will be kicking off in temps around 37 degrees. While that may be of small concern, winning in New England is a tough gig. Beating Brady AND Belichick in their own backyard is something few teams do.

I also don’t expect that to happen tomorrow. You know, snowballs in hell and all.
