The First Trailer for Strut, a TV-Show About Trans Models, Just Dropped (And it Looks Amazing!)
Whoopi Goldberg has just enabled our reality-TV addiction with the announcement of her upcoming project with Oxygen Network entitled Strut. The show centers on the lives of five transgender models of color from Slay Model Management, the first exclusively transgender modeling agency of its kind, as they deal with the obstacles of being a minority in an industry that has long been dominated by uniformity. Slay’s founder Cecilio Asuncion says, “It’s not about being trans. It’s about being a model first and a transwoman or transman second.” In the trailer for the upcoming reality show (and TV-hit, we hope) these role models of change each give us a sneak peek into their daily lives as they experience everything from the challenges that come with facing friends and family after transitioning, to getting back in the dating game, and slaying the career game on the runway. We expect to see the usual catfights and waterfall sessions (as seen on America’s Next Top Model) but we’re also looking forward to increased visibility for an emerging demographic of modeling talent.
Ashley Graham Fronts H&M Studio's Newest Campaign, Label Free
It's one thing to publicly encourage the breaking of barriers within the fashion industry; it’s another to let the change speak for itself. Yesterday, H&M did just that when it was announced that esteemed plus-size model Ashley Graham was to become the new face of the multinational brand for their Fall 2016 Studio collection (and not just for their plus size styles). H&M continues to be a leader in inclusion and for those reasons Graham, who is also an advocate for body positivity, seems to be the perfect fit for the brand’s more representative look. Moreover, the two forces are successfully taking a step towards putting an end to the incessant number of labels and divisions that hierarchize beauty.

Watch Grace Coddington's Former Assistants Share Their Favourite Memories of the Iconic Editor
Being an assistant for one of the higher ups in fashion can seem like an exigent task for some, but Grace Coddington’s reputation proves that it can feel like working with an older sister and mentor. In the September issue of Teen Vogue, Coddington poses alongside all of her admiring former assistants. The magazine also released a video where said fashion-mentees shared their favourite memories working alongside the iconic Conde-Nast fashion editor, now Creative Director of Tiffany & Co.
