There is no denying that December is a magical month. There is so much to see and do in addition to all of the Christmas traditions that your family already has. Recently Reindeer Food crafts became popular (probably due to Pinterest). I have always loved the idea (I put carrots out as a kid and have continued doing so with my daughters) and do believe that there are magical ways to celebrate this season. I don’t necessarily think that we need to teach kids that reindeer eat glitter though. So this year I created a reindeer poem printable craft project for everyone to use.
Reindeer Food Poem:
Reindeer travel many miles
Flying as Santa’s reindeer pack.
They will be filled with love and smiles
When they see this special reindeer snack.
I wrote this myself…sorry if you think it stinks (it’s been a long time since I can remember writing poetry…I tried to get the rhyming thing down, but may have missed some syllable rule). I love that this poem allows you to put out carrots or oatmeal…or actual (rein)deer food. You certainly can put sweets or glitter in your reindeer food if you wish, but you can be a little more factual and still have fun if that is your cup of tea.
