32 Things In The Magic Kingdom

1. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – a family-friendly thrill ride. This coaster takes you on a twisting journey through the Seven Dwarfs’ mine. Using new technology, your cart will rock back and forth as you cruise around sharp banks and hairpin turns. If you aren’t able to get a Fastpass+ reservation, the regular queue is interactive with touch screen games that will entertain you as you wait.

2. Peter Pan’s Flight – one of the most popular attractions in all of the Magic Kingdom. Thanks to Tinker Bell’s Pixie Dust, you will magically sail through the story of Peter Pan in your own personal pirate ship. You’ll catch glimpses of the Nursery, London, Neverland, The Lost Boys and you’ll journey through a fight scene with Peter Pan and Hook. As you make your way back home, you’ll leave a defeated Captain Hook in your dust.

3. Dumbo The Flying Elephant – one of the most classic Disney attractions. It has been re-imagined in it’s new home in Storybook Circus and now features two sets of rotating Dumbos, one flies clockwise and the other flies counter-clockwise. Plus, you no longer need to rush to Dumbo as it now features both Fastpass+ and an interactive queue complete with playground for the kids to play until it’s your time to fly. Disney did a great job making this attraction guest friendly!

4. Space Mountain – a true treat for roller coaster enthusiasts. Your 3-seat rocket climbs a 180-foot tall mountain and then blasts through the galaxy in the pitch blackness of space. With the help of NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper, you will feel as if you are on an actual space flight as you journey past whizzing shooting stars, comets and meteors. At the end of the ride, you are pulled back into a swirling wormhole for re-entry to Earth. Be sure to smile for your picture!

5. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin – stop by to become a Junior Space Ranger. Evil Emperor Zurg has stolen batteries from helpless toys to power up his new weapon of destruction and it is up to you to fire your laser at the targets to stop him. At the end of the ride, check out your Star Command Rank (based on the number of points you scored) and pose with a picture with the captured Zurg.

6. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – see how 4 generations of the same family lived at the turn of the 20th century, the 1920’s, the 1940’s and during the present day. Walt Disney created Carousel of Progress for the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair. It was placed at Disneyland until 1973 and then moved to Walt Disney World in 1975. As you enjoy this show, remember that Walt personally had a hand in this attraction.

7. Under The Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid – enter Prince Eric’s castle through an underground cavern and board your clam shell for a journey through Ariel’s story. You will even find yourself under the sea as you sing and dance along with Ariel’s cast of her closest saltwater friends. Finally the story will conclude with Ariel and Eric’s wedding and King Triton will see you off with a fireworks display.

8. Ariel’s Grotto – The only place to meet Ariel outside of character meals. Because guest have just journeyed under the sea, you will have the honor of meeting Ariel with her mermaid tail. This is a more intimate meet-and-greet, allowing only 2 families in with Ariel at a time.

9. Enchanted Tales with Belle – an interactive story adventure that features Belle, Lumiere and cast of characters played by the audience They choose guests for specific parts but everyone who wants one will get a part before the show begins. At the beginning of your fairy tale journey, you arrive at Maurice’s cottage, Belle’s childhood home. From there, you are magically transported to Beast’s Library in the castle to interact with Belle in your storytelling adventure. Afterwards, those that participated in the story are invited to take a picture with the princess before departing with a small trinket.

10. It’s A Small World – one of the most classic rides in all of Walt Disney World. Originally built with the support of UNICEF for the 1964-1965 World’s Fair, you will now find this attraction at all of the Disney Resorts around the world. We all know this classic tune and can sing along with the almost 300 traditional dolls as you enjoy the 10 minute journey through a rainbow of diverse cultures from around the world and all 7 continents.



11. Haunted Mansion – a dark ride through an abandoned estate haunted by 999 “happy haunts”. Your Doom Buggy will carry you through 15 rooms as your ghostly tour guide points out the haunts along the way. And at the end of your tour, three happy haunts might just hitch a ride with you for a way out of the mansion. Little ones beware, this ride is dark and somewhat scary for the youngest members of your party. My kids were finally brave enough to ride this attraction when they were over the age of 6.

12. Pirates of the Caribbean – a 9 minute boat ride through the 17th century when Pirates plundered seaport towns. Your boat will travel through the Pirate’s Grotto which is home to the Dead Man’s Cove, The Fort where you will be in the middle of a battle between the Caribbean Fort and Captain Barbossa, the Town Square where pirates try to auction off the fair maddens, the Burning City where the buccaneers sing as the city goes down in the flames, the Dungeon where pirates try to convince the dog to give over the keys to set them free and finally the treasure room where you will spot Jack Sparrow celebrating. This attraction was so popular and well loved that it spawned the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.

13. Splash Mountain – takes you in the middle of Br’er Rabbit’s adventure to his “laughing place” while trying to outwit Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox who are aiming to enjoy him as a meal. You will journey through Critter Cave, The Fishing Place, The Old Swimming Hole, Br’er Fox’s Lair and finally Br’er Rabbit’s home in the briar patch. This attraction includes over 950,000 gallons of water and a 5-story drop, so be prepared to get wet!

14. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – whisks guests through a haunted gold-mining town on a runaway mine train. Legend has it that a supernatural force dwells in the mountain that causes ghostly sounds, cave-ins, mechanic failures and runaway mine trains. If you can, ride this attraction both during the day and at night for completely different experiences.

15. Meet Woody and Jessie – you can meet the duo from Woody’s Round Up and the popular Toy Story franchise in Frontierland. This is the only location to meet Jessie. Woody can also be found with Buzz Lightyear in Hollywood Studios across from Toy Story Mania.

16. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe – a large Quick-Service restaurant that serves Mexican fare. Choices include fajitas, southwest burger and chicken burritos. There is a topping bar to add peppers, onions, cheese and salsa to your entree.

17. Meet Rapunzel – the only place to meet this princess is at Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. Be sure to ask her where her skillet is.

18. Meet Cinderella – you’ve already seen her castle, now you’ve got to make sure to meet the owner. She can be found at Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. This is the only location to meet her outside of the character meals. Be sure to ask her if she has on both shoes.

19. Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater – at this meet ‘n greet Mickey will talk to you! It is sure to thrill guests of all ages.



20. Meet Stitch – this fun loving alien can be found at the flag pole on Main Street. Be sure to ask him if he likes Elvis.

21. Shop at the Emporium – this store carries a huge variety of Disney souvenirs with sections of the shop devoted to each type. This is actually one huge store and all of the buildings are connected on the inside. If you ever need to make it down Main Street quickly (during a parade, fireworks, etc), you can enter any of the shops and navigate your way around the merchandise to the end of Main Street. The Emporium is also a great place to spend some time while waiting for a parade to start. Have one member of your family hold a spot for the parade on Main Street while you and the kids visit the shops.

22. Pete’s Silly Sideshow – where you can meet Donald Duck as The Amazing Donald, Goofy as The Great Goofini, Daisy Duck as Madame Daisy Fortuna and Minnie Mouse as Minnie Magnifique. There are MemoryMaker Photographers on hand to catch the magical moments as your party meets their favorite characters.  This is a great place to see some classic characters in unique costumes.  Part of the fun of meeting characters is seeing them in various themed costumes.

23. Cinderella’s Royal Table – fulfill a childhood fantasy by entering Cinderella’s Castle and dining with Cinderella and her princess friends.

24. Dole Whip – this pineapple ice cream treat is the most popular snack in Walt Disney World. You can grab it at Aloha Isle in Adventureland.

25. Festival of Fantasy Parade – a 15 minute daily parade that serves tribute to the New Fantasyland. It features nearly 100 performers and includes characters such as Rapunzel, Anna, Elsa and even Olaf! This is a great option for young children who may be unsure of characters to see them just close enough and not be scared. This parade begins in Frontierland and ends at Main Street USA.

26. Main Street Electrical Parade – a nighttime parade featuring glowing floats, lighted dancers and more. It begins on Main Street between the Car Barn and Firehouse Station and travels up Main Street, through Liberty Square and ends in Frontierland.

27. Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party – a street party that begins on Main Street by the Firehouse and stops in the Hub in front of the castle. It features five floats that are decked out in gift-wrapped packages and includes characters like the Mad Hatter, Genie, Lumiere, Sebastian, Mickey, Minnie, Woody, Jessie, and lots more!

28. The Wishes Nighttime Spectacular Fireworks Show – takes place every night. Using Cinderella’s Castle as a backdrop, fireworks explode into the sky in sync with the music and story told by Jiminy Cricket. If you own a Made with Magic item, it will work with this fireworks show.

29. Mickey’s Royal Friendship Fare – a 20 minute musical show that takes place in front of Cinderella’s Castle throughout the day. Starring Donald Duck, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and their princess and villain friends, this show is a must see!

30. The Jungle Cruise – takes you on a exotic cruise through the Amazon in South America, The African Congo, The Nile River and The Mekong River. Along the way, you’ll spot hippos, elephants, snakes and other creatures as you cruise by their natural habitats. So sit back and enjoy the skipper’s tales as you make this 10 minute journey around the world.

31. The Welcome Show – this show takes place about 20 minutes prior to the park opening. The Mayor (or another Main Street Citizen) will welcome guests to the park from atop the Main Street Railroad Station. The Walt Disney World Railroad will pull up to the station carrying about 20 of the characters who will all join together to wave guests into the park.

32. Meet Gaston – ranked as one of the funniest characters in Walt Disney World, make sure you take the time to meet Gaston. He’s not only handsome but he is witty, charismatic and totally infatuated with Belle.

24 Things In Epcot

33. Spaceship Earth – located inside the geodesic sphere. It is a continuous loading attraction (that means that the attraction does not stop for guests to load but instead the floor moves with the attraction to make boarding seamless) and the boarding area is right as you enter the sphere. So even if the queue appears long, it is because the entire queue is located outside under the sphere.

34. Meet Baymax – this fun loving robot greets guests inside the Innoventions West building. Make sure you do a fist bump!

35. Meet Joy and Sadness – these two emotions greet guests from Headquarters inside Innoventions West. Be sure to ask them to do a selfie!

36. Epcot Character Spot – here you can meet Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Minnie Mouse. Fastpass+ is also available to shorten your wait time.

37. Disney Visa Meet and Greet – If you have a Disney Visa card, you can flash it to enter this private meet and greet. I’ve met Minnie, Mickey Mouse, Pluto and Goofy here.

38. The Sea With Nemo and Friends – a dark ride in a clam shell that takes you on a quest to find Nemo and finishes with a breathtaking view of the aquarium.

39. Turtle Talk With Crush – an interactive experience with Crush from Finding Nemo. He will even engage with children sitting near the tank.

40. Soarin’ Around The World – Board a glider for an exhilarating flight above popular landmarks around the world. Book a Fastpass+ for this one or head straight to it at Rope Drop.

41. Journey Into Imagination With Figment – takes you on a tour through Dr. Channing’s sensory labs where you learn about the five senses. Figment drops in from time to time to sabotage the doctor’s sound experiment. At the end of the ride, kids can have a lot of fun playing in ImageWorks, where they can create music, digital pictures and even get themselves superimposed with Disney characters or into various scenes.

42. Mouse Gears – Walt Disney World’s largest in-park store. Here you will find a huge assortment of souvenirs to fit every taste, need and budget.

43. Test Track – one of the two popular attractions in Future World. You will have the opportunity to customize your car and then test it against others out on the track.

44. Mission Space – a space launch simulator that takes you on a trip to Mars (the green side is the tamest). Since it does have a height limit, you can take little ones in through Mission: Space Cargo Bay, the gift shop located at the exit. Head to the right and around the corner and you will find Space Base, a fun playground area. There are also interactive games all with a space theme.

45. Kidcot – to make your visit to the World Showcase more enjoyable for the kids, you will find a Kidcot station in each country where guests can color a Duffy the Disney Bear or Perry the Platypus cutout and have it stamped in each country. Sometimes the Cast Members will even write your name in their language.

46. O Canada – a standing room only Circle-Vision 360 degree movie hosted by Martin Short. It runs continuously throughout the day.

47. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros – located inside the pyramid. The ride features the characters from Disney’s 1944 The Three Caballeros. You board a boat that navigates between the Mayan pyramid and the San Angel Inn restaurant and into the Three Caballeros story. The three of them were scheduled to perform at a fiesta, but of course Donald has gone missing. Throughout the ride, Panchito and Jose try to locate Donald so that they can perform together in Mexico city at end of the ride.

48. Frozen Ever After – board a boat that will take you through the story of this popular film. This ride is currently extremely popular so I recommend you either book a Fastpass+ or head straight to it at Rope Drop.

49. Meet Anna and Elsa – after riding Frozen Ever After, you can head to the Royal Sommerhus to meet the sisters. This cabin is themed as a retreat for royalty and is decorated with personal trinkets.

50. Meet Mulan – the only place to meet this princess is in China. Be sure to ask her where Mu-Shu is.

51. Meet Belle – in France you can meet Belle in her blue peasant dress. Be sure to ask her where Chip is.

52. Terracotta Warriors – this semi-secret exhibit is located in China. It is a replica of the actual Terracotta Warriors that were designed to guard the tomb of the emperor.

53. Pick A Pearl – if you want to bring back a unique souvenir from Epcot, visit the station inside the Mitsukoshi store in the Japan Pavilion.

54. Fish and Chips – this entree is a must have. You can find it at Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom.

55. Via Napoli – split a pizza or other Italian dish from this delicious restaurant. You can feed your whole family for about $60 if you choose water as your beverage and you split one of the larger pizzas.

56. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth – a nightly breath-taking performance around the World Showcase Lagoon. This fireworks show tells the story of our planet from when the Earth is Born, through the Triumph of Life and finally the Hope for the Future.

16 Things In Hollywood Studios

57. Toy Story Mania – a must do midway-style, 4D shootin’ game. This ride stars your favorite characters from Toy Story and lets you compete with other members of your party to see who has the best aim! In the queue, you’ll wind through Andy’s room and make your way past supersized versions of his favorite toys…or are you miniaturized and the favorite toys are still their real size? Now that Andy has left, the toys have set up the new Toy Story Midway Mania Games Play Set and you can join in on the fun. How many points will you score? This attraction can have very long wait times, so using a Fastpass here is ideal.

58. Meet Buzz and Woody – you’ll find the dynamic duo across from Toy Story Mania. Be sure to ask them to show you the bottom of their boot.

59. Rock ‘N Roller Coaster – a dark coaster that launches you from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds . This high speed ride takes place in a super-stretch limo while you jam to custom tracks from Aerosmith. You’ll fly through the famous Hollywood sign, around popular landmarks, and even zoom around two rollover loops at speeds up to 60 miles per hour. Each limo plays a different song, so ride multiple times for different ride experiences.

60. Dine at 50’s Prime Time Cafe – a family-friendly restaurant open for lunch and dinner. The wait staff acts like your parents and encourages you to eat all your veggies while keeping your elbows off the table. The restaurant is themed like mama’s kitchen, and each dining area features a TV playing classics, a Formica table, and wall decor original to the 1950’s.

61. Great Movie Ride – This ride takes you through sound stages of some of the most popular films in history including Casablanca, The Wizard of Oz and Fantasia. As the ride progresses, you will become part of a scene of a movie happening right inside your vehicle.

62. Meet Olaf – say hi to the hilarious snowman in his permanent summer home. Be sure to ask him what his favorite part about summer is.

63. Fantasmic! – a 30-minute fireworks and water extravaganza that takes place at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater. If you own a Made with Magic item, it will work with this fireworks show. This nighttime show is performed on select nights only. Be sure to check the Times Guide or MDE App before you plan your Disney’s Hollywood Studios day if you want to see this show.

64. Star Wars Launch Bay – an immersive special exhibit that gives you an up-close look at replica props, models, costumes and artifacts from the Star Wars films. You can also watch behind-the-scenes video of how filmmakers are crafting the future of the saga. Make sure to pose for a picture with Chewbacca.

65. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular – a nightly fireworks show set to the music from the Star Wars films including Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If you own a Made with Magic item, it will work with this fireworks show.

66. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – this ride has a unique backstory. On a stormy Halloween night in 1939, five unlucky people disappeared from the Hollywood Tower Hotel’s elevator without a trace. The hotel closed down that night and has remained abandoned ever since. Years have passed, and you are now invited to take a tour of the abandoned Hollywood Tower Hotel and ride in one of the only remaining working elevators. But beware, a storm is brewing and you might just be a repeat of what happened in 1939! As you approach Tower of Terror, you’ll notice two stone gates. These gates were inspired by the ones that guard the entrance to the real estate subdivision Hollywoodland (the inspiration for the famous Hollywood sign).

67. Disney Junior – Live on Stage – a must see for kids who love the shows that come on Disney Junior. The show features Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Characters.

68. Meet Doc McStuffins – meet this popular doctor in her fun setting. Be sure to ask her where Stuffy and Chilly are.

69. Meet Sofia the First – this popular princess meets Guests in Animation Courtyard. Ask her if she likes being a princess or if she misses being a commoner.

70. The Voyage of the Little Mermaid – a classic attraction that takes you into the story of Ariel and Eric. The story is recreated using puppets, live performers, special effects, movie clips and even stars the Little Mermaid herself.

71. Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage – a live action performance of the classic fairytale that takes place in the Theater of the Stars. Join Belle, Beast, Mrs. Potts, and all the rest as they bring the audience into the story of love, perseverance and devotion.

15 Things In Animal Kingdom

72. Kilimanjaro Safaris – your party will embark on a ‘fourteen day’ safari through the lush African savanna, 110-acre Harambe Wildlife Reserve. On your journey, you will see over 34 different species of exotic African wildlife. Always have your camera at the ready, you never know what you might see.

73. Eat at Tusker House – designed to look like a run down hotel. Here you can dine on African-flavored cuisine and American favorites from the buffet as Donald, Goofy, Mickey and Daisy come to your table for pictures and autographs. This location has the characters dressed in their safari gear.

74. Festival of the Lion King – an amazing live action performance of the popular Disney movie. The show takes place in the Harambe Theater located in Africa along the waterfront to the west of the Tusker House restaurant and Dawa Bar. The theater includes an upgraded lighting and audio package that makes this show even more spectacular.

75. Finding Nemo – The Musical – a 40 minute theatrical performance based on the hit Disney-Pixar film. The show brings the sea to life with large, brightly colored puppets handled by puppeteers that are so amazing that you will start to think that they are just an extension of the famous fish.

76. Wilderness Explorers – Stop by the welcome center located on the bridge near the Tree of Life. You’ll receive a Wilderness Explorers field guide listing 30 different badges that can be earned at specific spots throughout the park. At this welcome center you can earn your first badge and receive your final badge upon completion of the field guide. If you are at the park when it opens, I recommend you skip the welcome center. All field guides have the book, and you can get one later in the morning as time permits.

77. DINOSAUR – buckle tight as you take a high speed, gut wrenching tour of prehistoric time on an expedition to save an Iguanodon from extinction. The Dino Institute, a secret research facility and museum that features real dinosaur bones, funds the expedition and they send your 12-set Time Rover back 65 million years to the Cretaceous era. Hold on as the ride is bumpy, jarring, and can be too much for little ones.

78. Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain – an exhilarating expedition through the icy Himalayas overseen by Himalayan Escapes – Tours and Expeditions. For years, the Royal Anandapur Tea Company shipped its tea via train through this very mountain. After mysterious accidents, the railroad was closed and fell into disarray. Now that the Himalayan Escapes has reopened the mountain, it is your turn to explore the mountain, but beware! This area is known to be home to the Yeti, a mysterious snow monster that will not appreciate your presence.

79. Primeval Whirl – a spinning, dinosaur themed, carnival-style rollercoaster that is part of Dino-Rama, the area owned by Chester and Hester. This heart pumping ride features twists, turns and even spins you 360 degrees as you race past carnival themed dinosaur signs, a shower of crazy meteors, and even a jigsaw maze of dino bones before blasting back into the present day. This roller coaster looks like one you would find in amusement parks in the 1940’s and 50’s.

80. Triceratop Spin – features sixteen 4-person bright green dinosaur ride vehicles that spin through the area and move up and down for an exhilarating and fun ride for your entire party. Located in Dino-Rama, this ride will delight the little ones who aren’t quite tall or brave enough to enjoy Dinosaur or Primeval Whirl.

81. Meet Goofy and Pluto – these two canines meet together in Dinoland U.S.A.. Stop by for a hello and a hug.

82. Meet Mickey and Minnie at Adventurers Outpost – air conditioned and it is the only location in Walt Disney World where you can get a picture with both Mickey and Minnie. That does not happen at the character meals but I have seen them both at the Visa Meet and Greet in Epcot.

83. The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic – a nightly show featuring special effects, performances and musics from the hit movie. Check the Times Guide for accurate showtimes.

84. Wildlife Express Train – carries you to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. This train is equipped with seats that face toward one side of the train, enabling passengers with a great view but only of one side of the journey. On the seven minute train ride, you will pass backstage areas of Disney’s Animal Kingdom including the housing and veterinary facilities for many of the animals that roam the savanna during the day.

85. Rafiki’s Planet Watch – a place where your party can go to learn how Walt Disney World cares for the thousands of animals located in the park. Here you will find Affection Section petting zoo, outdoor discovery trails, veterinary treatment rooms and lots more exciting exhibits related to Walt Disney World’s care and conservation of animals. You can also learn about conservation efforts of organizations around the world and what you can do to help.

86. Meet Rafiki – he can be found at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Be sure to ask him where Simba is.

87. Kali River Rapids – an exhilarating raft excursion along the Chakrandi River, courtesy of the Kali Rapids Expeditions. During this rafting excursion, you will journey into a lush jungle landscape that tragically begins to transform into a land ravaged by illegal logging. Your journey ends with a dramatic 20 foot drop where some, if not all, of the 12 passengers in your raft will get soaked.

12 Other Things To Do

88. Chef Mickey’s – meet the fab five in their chef attire. You can pick between breakfast, lunch or dinner.

89. 1900 Park Fare – book a reservation for Cinderella’s Happily Ever After dinner. The buffet features traditional American favorites including prime rib and seafood. As you dine, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Anastasia, Drizella and Lady Tremaine will stop by your table for pictures and autographs. Children will also be welcomed onto the dance floor to waltz with Cinderella and Prince Charming.

90. Whispering Canyon Cafe – a family style meal that includes the popular all-you-can-eat skillet. The wait staff is fun and engaging with all the Guests. Make sure you ask for ketchup.

91. ‘Ohanas – the Best Friends Breakfast at ‘Ohana in the Polynesian Village Resort is one of the best character meals. Breakfast is served all-you-can-eat family-style and features Mickey Waffles and other American favorites that are influenced by Polynesian flavors. Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto (dressed in their Hawaiian outfits) will visit your table for pictures and autographs. There will even be a parade with the characters through the restaurant.

92. Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop – serves up incredible sundaes and other ice cream favorites. Enter the gift shop to score a free piece of chocolate.

93. World of Disney – this store is the largest merchandise shop at Walt Disney World Resort. Here you can find just about every single souvenir that you could need, from golf polos to colorful pens.

94. Pressed Pennies – for just $0.51 you can create a souvenir of your vacation. There are over 500 different pressed pennies that you can collect.

95. Pin Trading – many of the cast members have pins available to trade. This fun activity is just one extra thing you can add to make your vacation magical.

96. Resort hop – all of the Disney World resorts are incredibly themed. Take some time to hop around to the different resorts.

97. Ride the Monorail – even if you don’t need to use it for transportation make sure that you take a ride on it. It is a run experience.
