FREE and Cheap Summer Activities For Kids in Central Florida
It’s hard trying to keep your kids occupied during the summer and stay on budget. Here is a list of FREE and Cheap Summer Activities For Kids in Central Florida area:
1. FREE bowling all Summer at your local AMF lanes!- Register your kids (ages 15 and under) for the Summer Games and let them enjoy 3 free games every weekday, all summer long!
2. Orange County Regional History Center- Mondays at the Museum. Every Monday from June 11, 2014 through August 6, 2014, admission is free for up to four children aged 12 and under with one paid adult admission.
3. Have a beach day!- Central Florida has many beaches! New Smyrna, Daytona, Cocoa, are amung some of the favorites!
4. $1 movies at Regal Cinemas!- Regal Cinemas will be offering movies for just $1 this summer! All movies and times vary by location.
5. Visit A Splash Pad!-
Splash Pad At Trailblazer Park (Lake Mary)- $2 a person or $15 for an annual pass for Lake Mary residents.
Ft. Mellon Park Splash Pad (Sanford)- $2 per person, $25 season pass, FREE on the 1st Friday of every month from 11am-8pm
Torcaso and Trotwood Park Splash Pads (Winter Springs)- Residents get in FREE, non-residents $3 per person.
Splash Zone (Oviedo)- Residents $4 per person, non-residents $9 per person
Hannibal Square Shady Park Splash Pad (Winter Park)- FREE
Downey Park Splash Pad (Orlando)- $1 per person
Capehart Park- FREE
Dr. P Phillips Community Park (Orlando)- $1 per person
6. Barnes & Noble Summer Reading- Between May 20 and September 2 your child can earn a FREE book for reading 8 books! They can be any 8 books they choose. You’ll have to print out a form to keep track.
7. FREE Crafts for kids at Lakeshore Learning!- Every Saturday from 11am-3pm Lakeshore Learning offers FREE crafts for kids 3+ to do!
8. FREE Weekly workshops for Kids at Home Depot!- Home Depot offers FREE weekly workshops for kids. You must register online ahead of time.
9. FREE Lowe’s Build and Grow Workshops- Lowe’s often offers FREE Build and Grow workshops for kids where they can build all kinds of fun stuff! You must register online ahead of time.
10. Visit Good Neighbors Farmers Market/ Petting Zoo- Good Neighbors Farmers Market is located in Oviedo. The cost is $2 per person (Kids 3 & under are FREE). This is tons of fun for the whole family. They offer fresh produce, live music, and a petting zoo for the kids.
11. Pinocchio’s Marionette Theater (Altamonte Mall)- Take your kids to see a cute show! Kids under 2 are FREE, 2 & up $6.
12. Check out a U-Pick Farm:
Pappy’s Patch U-Pick Strawberries (Oviedo)- It’s Strawberry season! Take your kids and go pick your own!
Beck Brother’s Blueberries u-Pick (Windermere)- Who doesn’t love fresh picked blueberries?
The Brook Hollow Farm (Orlando)- They’ve got asparagus, blackberries, broccoli, carrots, onions, peppers, summer squash, strawberries, tomatoes, and other fruits/vegs.
13. Popcorn Flicks in the Park (Winter Park)- The City of Winter Park and The Enzian Theater come together to offer a FREE kids movie in the park. Bring your picnic blanket and popcorn!
14. Crane’s Roost Sunset Cinema (Altamonte Springs)- Once a month you can enjoy a FREE movie out at Crane’s Roost. Bring your picnic blanket and popcorn!
15. Movies In the park (Ocoee)- On select Friday’s you can watch a FREE movie at the Bill Breeze Park
16. Visit The Mennello Museum of Art (Orlando)- Adults $5, Seniors $4, Students (with ID) $1, ages 6-18 $1, Kids under 6 FREE, Military (with ID) FREE.
17. Story Time at Leu Gardens (Orlando)- Only the 1st Monday of the month they offer FREE story time for the kiddos! 10-10:15am Infants (up to 18 months old), 10:20-10:35am toddlers (18months to 2 years), 10:40-11am preschool (3 to 5 years)
18. FREE Mini-Model Lego Build (Downtown Disney)- On the 1st Tuesday of every month the Lego Store at Downtown Disney offers a FREE Mini-Model Build for kids ages 6-14.
19. Kid’s Crafts At Michael’s- Each month Michael’s offers free or cheap kids crafts.
20. Kid’s Crafts Camps At Joann Fabrics- Joann Fabrics are constantly offering crafty classes/camps for kids!
