Though he's in the middle of his first-ever headlining tour, Scotty McCreery recently took a little time out to perform at the sweet 16 birthday party for Duck Dynasty's Sadie Robertson. Scotty ventured to the Robertsons' turf in West Monroe, La., where he spent time off-roading in the mud with Sadie's brother John Luke Robertson and enjoyed the cooking of matriarch Kay Robertson.
Sadie, the daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson, initially struck up a friendship with Scotty through Twitter but finally met the singer in person recently.
“The first time I met Sadie and John Luke was at the Opry in Nashville,” says Scotty, who played the Grand Ole Opry during CMA Music Fest. “I saw her tweet that said she was in Nashville, so I said, ‘Hey, you want to come to the Opry?’ I’ve watched the show since Season 1 and we had exchanged tweets before.”
At the party, Scotty and his band performed his hits, including new single "See You Tonight," as well as "Man of Constant Sorrow" with Willie and John Luke. Scotty tweeted afterward that he had a blast.
