Lake Louise in Wyoming's Snowy Range
Country reader Angelique Rea shared this inspiring photo of Lake Louise, high in the Snowy Range of northwest Wyoming. “While it’s not as famous as some of the sights in nearby Yellowstone National Park, this lake is one of many Wyomingites’ favorite destinations,” she notes. “It’s along scenic Highway 130 about 30 minutes from Centennial.
Snow closes the highway in winter, and can last all the way to late summer. “I went up early one August morning to catch the sunrise on the cliffs above the lake, and was rewarded with the beauty and serenity that’s truly unique to high mountain lakes.”
