Understanding this connection, local art therapists, educators, mental health professionals and artists are offering free art sessions three times a week to help Charleston-area residents struggling with feelings of stress, sadness and grief related to the shootings at Emanuel AME Church. The group, Hearts Mend Hearts, will hold informal, drop-in art sessions on Sundays and Tuesdays with more structured, art-related workshops on Thursdays.
