Windows Cloud DevOps Engineer

You will be responsible for designing and maintaining our technology stack that powers our large-scale Windows Cloud services, designing our systems to handle growth of many orders of magnitude quickly.

NOTE: This is a remote position based out of a home office.

Job Requirements

Reporting to the VP of IT and Engineering, you will:

Establish corporate standards for Windows VM deployment and maintenance

Automate provisioning, updating, and de-provisioning of Windows VMs

Effectively work with other teammates in a mixed-OS environment, where important components of the Windows VM stack reside on Linux/Unix servers

Perform deep dives into the Windows kernel and I/O subsystem to troubleshoot any issues and to diagnose and optimize performance

Integrate multiple internal and third-party applications, some of which are multi-platform, into our Windows environment

Maintain our gold-standard uptime and our no data ever lost track record

Maintain multiple virtualization platforms as needed for different business use cases

Desired Skills and Experience:

You have managed 1000-seat or 10,000-seat Microsoft networks

You have experience developing and deploying Windows mass-deployment tools, update automation, provisioning automation, and ways to leverage SAN and VM resources to speed deployment

You have a keen mind for security

You are deeply familiar with the way the Windows kernel manages memory and I/O, and can engage at a deep level when kernel-level or performance issues arise

You have experience with various backup, DR, and virtualization tools in large-scale environments

Ideally, you also have experience with Linux or other variants of Unix

You are confident leveraging the best software systems and tools, or developing your own, to drive scale and security through cloud automation

Location: This position is part of a team that is 100% telecommuting, we will consider engineers in any location. Must have exceptional work ethic with little oversight required to be productive.
