Established Internet Investment Firm is launching a fresh new social media and website development company in Thornhill / Markham area. Company culture is one of balance. . . hard work with fun atmosphere and attitudes.
Presently looking for website designers / developers with an understanding for both standard web and mobile web applications.
Description of Role:
The website designer/developer would be required to design fresh cutting edge website layouts and have an eye for style and creativity. Successful candidate would be required to do website coding for both the standard format and mobile web format applications. The ideal candidate would possess a passion for website concept development and execution while exceeding the clients’ needs with a friendly and positive attitude.
Details:
• Flexible hours – approximately 20 a week to start
• Work from home 80% of the time / 20% alongside team
• Candidate must have vehicle for meetings in GTA
Responsibilities
• Work with project managers, content writers, campaign managers and clients to rapidly build websites or web-based applications on various platforms
• Develop of mockups / wireframes to aid the development of websites & applications
• Work as an effective team with account managers to present concepts to clients
• Configure hosting, email and WordPress environments
• Create, crop and optimize images for use in websites
• Develop web and mobile responsive sites
• Write custom HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Ensure web solutions perform consistency across web browsers
• Work with Social Media plugins on websites
• Implement SEO techniques to websites
• Carry out website and web-application maintenance
• Writing efficient & technically sound code
• Test, track, and resolve bugs
• Work on several projects concurrently
Experience & Skills
• 2 + years of experience in web design or web-application development
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and W3C standards
• Experience with PHP, Java or ASP is necessary
• 1 to 2 years of experience WordPress
• Both standard web and mobile web development
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent time management skills
• Strong communications skills, written and verbal
• Understanding of best practices as they relate to: site maps, wireframes, cross-browser compatibility, search engine optimization, user interface design, web safe fonts
• Must have an online portfolio that is accessible with application
• Preferably living in the Thornhill area
