PROJECT SCOPE

Our client has an ongoing 3-year contract to provide Operational and Maintenance support for the Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT), a system owned by the DOD Defense Manpower Data Center. This includes work in the full software development lifecycle.

The SWFT team shall sustain and support the SWFT application in both the production and test environments. The SWFT team shall perform maintenance activities that include completing maintenance and enhancement releases to the application, technology refresh, technology insertion, technical obsolescence, risk management, resolution to identified security issues, and data correction requests. The SWFT team shall use the company process and procedures to complete all work. Specifically for this solicitation, the support needed is for a senior .NET developer with the skills as noted in the Project Summary.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION OF CANDIDATE NEEDED:

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will participate in a team environment supporting a U.S. Government contract that provides personnel security management to DOD. The position involves the creation of new applications as well as modifications to existing applications. The candidate will need strong enterprise design skills and experience in a .Net based web services environment using the SQL Server database and SQL Server Reports tool.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of software applications in a federal government personnel security product. Act as a developer on Web enabled .Net applications and SQL Server Reports, gathering requirements, translating business requirements to technical solutions, estimating, coding, debugging, testing, research application/software problems and determining root causes, proposing and implementing solutions. Follows standards based software development/engineering processes and procedures, such as CMMI, and delivers high quality components/products. Will also need to

provide clear and timely status to management as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in an engineering or computer field; Five or more years of software development experience, including experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle. Must have experience developing and testing .Net applications. Experience of performance tuning and SQL Server Reports are a plus. Experience with relational databases (primarily SQL Server), Web application development, and Web technologies are required. Knowledge of Object Oriented design principles, MVC concepts, and data and object models are also required.

The work is fast paced with changing priorities. Task switching without loss of productivity is a must.

♦ Web technologies and protocols, such as, Web Services, TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS;

♦ Platforms, such as Windows XP, Unix (Sun Solaris is a plus).

♦ Familiarity with Department of Defense personnel security issues is a plus
