Sr. Cloud Engineer (AWS/LINUX/SOA/SQL) up to $120k D.C. (Telecommute)
Seeking accomplished engineer with experience in designing/implementing technical architectures within cloud environments to support SOA-based applications.
Job Duties:
Working hands-on with health care providers to modernize their IT infrastructure, especially with respect to defining technical architectures to migrate clients from their existing environments to cloud environments
Supporting the Development team
Desired Skills:
Healthcare industry experience
SQL Server and IIS 7 deployment and management
JBoss/Apache server management
SOA-related technologies (XML, SOAP, WSDL and REST)
Data modeling and DB development (e.g., ERD development)
SQL development and performance tuning

Job Requirements
Required Skills:
5+ years experience of progressively responsible experience in developing technical architectures for enterprise-wide virtualized applications deployed in a cloud/virtualization
3yrs+ Hands-on experience with setting up and maintaining virtualized platforms within AWS Amazon Web Services Cloud Computing (S3, EBS, EC2, etc.)
5+ years experience of administration of Linux, Windows, Active Directory, load balancers, web servers (including SSL certificates), and DNS
2+ years exo of Networking experience, including the establishment of virtual private clouds using public and private subnets
Experience implementing active/active architectures, especially with respect to data modeling and replication
Excellent diagramming / documenting skills (e.g., the development of technical specifications) please provide examples!
Hands-on experience with application troubleshooting (app and database)
Experience with requirements solicitation and documentation, working directly with customers
Strong communication skills (documentation/writing, and presentation/verbal skills). Must be able to interact directly with customers and other coworkers/contractors (onshore and offshore), including software and infrastructure engineers.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time to support multiple high priority objectives simultaneously
Practical approach to engineering (a process believer, but not an extremist)
Strong desire to excel and the discipline to achieve it
