Well established, rapidly growing Annapolis-based Electronic Medical Records company in the behavioral health sector is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Manager. Our company is a virtual workplace with 100% of the workforce operating from their home offices throughout the U.S.
Working in a rapid development environment, the Software QA Manager will define the test strategy and approach for monthly releases, provide quality assurance leadership, and ensure product quality. This individual must have a strong sense of quality ownership. This is a hands-on job that requires strategic thinking and planning to provide leadership and expertise throughout the entire QA lifecycle.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and drive a high-level QA strategy and take a hands-on approach to implementing processes and procedures to execute that strategy.

Design, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans and test cases. Anticipate potential software problems by creating exhaustive test scenarios that ensure comprehensive testing.

Define and implement standards for documenting test results.

Identify and analyze defects/test results and be able to deduce the chain of events leading to a failure.

Collaborate with developers to improve overall product quality by emphasizing defect prevention throughout the development process.

Identify areas for test improvement through analysis, experience, and the use of metrics.

Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner.

Educate and train peers on the QA process and provide guidance when they are unclear about the process.

Manage processes for moving releases from test to production environments

Develop and implement processes to manage the deployment of code to new customers.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in IT, computer science, or related field

Prior software testing/QA experience in a lead or management role

Skilled in QA system development and implementation

Self motivated and willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done

Attention to detail and accuracy

Capable of reasoning and thinking through problems and able to independently and jointly develop desired solutions

Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate and share solutions with colleagues and customers

Able to multitask

Sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives, and deadlines

Newer computer with strong, steady internet access of at least 20 mbps download and 2 mbps upload
