GIS Software Developer (Job Number: 403548)

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate will be providing client and technical geospatial development support under the direction of the project manager. He/She will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle and geospatial applications, including gathering and analyzing requirements, designing mockups and developing rapid prototypes design, full development, testing and application maintenance. The candidate will provide geospatial software development support using ESRI ArcGIS Web/ArcObjects API and Mobile API products to integrate geospatial information into Desktop, Server and Mobile applications. He/She will collaborate with staff to design and develop software components for the management, manipulation, analysis and display of a wide variety of data.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor degree from an accredited institution and at least two (2) years of direct software development experience deploying geospatial technologies and web applications. Must possess excellent communication skills; be creative and detail-oriented; able to multi-task; and have the ability to work well under pressure. In addition, the candidate must be able to work in team environment and possess qualities for continued responsibilities and leadership. Must have strong software / system architecture skills along with UI design experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

– Expertise in HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript

– Expertise in developing GIS applications

– Expertise in both front end design/implementation, and backend workflow.

– Proficient in Python, and experience with ESRI’s ArcPy module

– Strong understanding of ESRI APIs (JavaScript and ArcObjects)

– Strong understanding of C# and .NET Framework (ASP.NET)

– Solid understanding of JQuery/AJAX

– Solid understanding of Dojo

– Solid understanding of Asynchronous Module Definition (AMD) and RequireJS

– Solid understanding of responsive design

– Strong Experience with SQL Server and Access databases

– Familiarity with Bootstrap UI Framework

– Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal direct supervision and manage multiple tasks to completion

– Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Responsibilities

– Design and implement multi-tiered enterprise geospatial system

– Produce scalable, robust, high-quality code

– Provide production support and troubleshooting

– Track down, fix, and test defects

– Communicate directly with government customers to ensure proper design and implementation of software.
Travel: Client is located in the Washington D.C Metro Area, and the candidate has the option of teleworking. Quarterly face-to-face meetings with the client are desired.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
