The Regence Group Actuarial Division is responsible for proactively managing and retrospectively tracking and reporting on the financial and risk positions within the company, and supporting the strategic goals of the corporation.
Within that context, the Assistant Actuary or Associate Actuary performs technical, analytical, support and leadership functions to help the division and the company meets its goals.
Combine your analytical and technical skills with the following:
Actuary Assistant II
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, economics, computer science or an equivalent related field and minimum 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience
Keen analytical and problem solving skills
Business sense (finance, accounting, economics, risk management)
Solid oral and written communication skills
Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Access and SAS)
Well into the process of earning recognized actuarial credentials (ASA, MAAA).
Ability to work independently
Proven ability to perform moderately difficult actuarial tasks.
Demonstrated competency in performing all Actuary Assistant I duties.
Actuary Assistant III
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, economics, computer science or an equivalent related field and a minimum 3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries in good standing
Associate in the Society of Actuaries in good standing
Well-developed business sense (finance, accounting, economics, risk management)
Proven ability to perform moderately difficult actuarial tasks
Demonstrated competency in performing all Actuary Assistant II duties
Working knowledge of how an insurance company functions
Experience with project management preferred
Desire to obtain Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries preferred
Actuary Associate I
The above, plus:
Minimum 4 years’ experience and have completed at least 1 FSA exam and/or set of modules, or Career ASA, MAAA with a minimum of 6 years’ experience
Proven ability to perform and manage difficult actuarial tasks
Demonstrated success with project management
Very well developed business sense (finance, accounting, economics, risk management)
In-depth working knowledge of how an insurance company functions
Demonstrated competency in performing all Actuary Assistant III duties.
Ability to work independently on complex projects and issues with large financial and/or risk impact to the corporation.
Actuarial Associate II
The above, plus:
Minimum 5 years’ experience and have completed at least 2 FSA exams and/or sets of modules, or Career ASA, MAAA with a minimum of 7 years’ experience
Ability to represent the Actuarial Division visibly in internal meetings as a leadership presence
Demonstrated competency in performing all Actuary Associate I duties
Actuarial Associate III
The above, plus:
Minimum 6 years’ experience and close to achieving FSA or Career ASA, MAAA with a minimum of 8 years’ experience
Associate or Fellow in the Society of Actuaries in good standing
Demonstrated competency in performing all Actuary Associate II duties
Desire to obtain Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries preferred
This position is pay level 18 to 22 DOE.
