We have had the craziest weeks. One day we would wake up to 5 degrees and rain, and the next day we had 23 degrees and sun. The trees went from being completely bare to be bursting with leaves in only four days. The mosquitoes are popping out from every corner of the forest and we have spotted the first tadpoles and baby birds.

June (already!) is usually a rollercoaster of weather conditions. At least I have put away all the bulky winter clothes, mittens and boots. The children are enjoying the bursts of sunshine, and there are only two weeks left for the summer holidays to begin.

The garden has briefly been tended to. We are giving the biggest part of the soil a rest year, and we have planted "green fertilizer", which consists of a mix of different clover species that will put nitrogen back into the ground. We will only be using half of the field to plant some potatoes and salad. I am not able to do  much work without getting tired, as the little ones do demant their share of attention. I spend most part of the time sitting in the sunshine and knitting while everyone else plays. We will then take a biking trip or just go for a walk enjoying the fresh air which we have missed so much during the long winter.

Our baby girl (girl!) is growing strong in the belly and the boys keep asking when she is going to be born. I keep telling them they cannot start getting impatient already since there are still many months to go! On the knitting front, I have been knitting a few baby things and I am close to completing a baby blanket. It has taken me a long time to knit this blanket but the result is going to be fantastic.

We are otherwise spending the summer at home.  We have to buy a new car, one that fits all six of us, and we are searching for an affordable seven-seater. So we are trying to focus on money saving and planning our costs for the rest of the year and the upcoming year when I will be on maternity leave.

And now the sun just came out and we are heading out the door again!
