WHEN: The six-week Costa Rica Journalism Fall Intern Program is to begin on November 9th and runs until the middle of December.  You will be back home by Christmas to spend time with family and friends, but you might not want to leave!  The weeks will fly by as you immerse yourself in your studies and in Costa Rica.

WHERE: The Costa Rican Times Fall Journalism Intern Program will be held in Playa Hermosa, just south of Jaco on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The quaint surfing town will be a home base for you during your stay in Costa Rica. Do not surprised to see iguanas or toucans in the trees outside your window while at the house, which is only a 10 minute walk from the Pacific Ocean’s sunsets.

Residential accommodations will be provided in a comfortable open-plan building. The dorm style environment will allow interns to interact with one another and help build a team atmosphere.

On weekends you will experience sailing in a catamaran at sunset in Tamarindo, zip lining through the canopies of the Monteverde Cloud Forest, and hiking the Manuel Antonio National Park while monkeys dangle in the trees and surfing in the Pacific waters, courtesy of our program sponsors (all tours listed here).

WHO: The Costa Rican Times’ Journalism Intern Program has a team of knowledgeable and seasoned experts. Each of our instructors will be available for one on one mentoring with the interns in the program to help them hone their journalism skills.
