As of today, Microsoft has the largest share in China of any US-based company, a position previously held by Google, and Microsoft is holding onto the increased share as shown in the below chart.
Microsoft spiked last summer after partnering with Xiaomi and putting Windows 10 software on Xiaomi’s smartphones. Similarly, in late September 2014, Microsoft had a huge launch of the Xbox One, resulting in the previous spike depicted in the above chart.
