Tetsuji Okada

JAPAN: Tetsuji Okada, former general manager of Mitsubishi Electric Europe bv, is the new president of the Japan Refrigeration and Airconditioning Industries Association (JRAIA).

A graduate of UC Berkely, Tetsuji Okada joined Mitsubishi in 2005 and has been involved in the development of EcoCute CO2 heat pumps and for the last four years was involved in the production of the air conditioners at the Mitsubishi Electric factory in Livingston, UK.

A member of UNEP’s Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Technical Options Committee (RTOC), he replaces Tetsuro Kishimoto who has retired.

JRAIA has also restructured its board. Ichiro Hongo, executive officer of Toshiba Carrier Corporation, was appointed for a two-year term as JRAIA’s new chairman, replacing Daikin’s Shinya Okada.
