Dimension Data announced it has won two 2012 Microsoft Global Partner awards, including Microsoft Messaging Partner of the Year, and Microsoft Learning Competency Marketing Excellence Partner of the Year. The company was honoured among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions based on Microsoft technology.

Awards were presented in multiple categories, with winners chosen from a set of nearly 3,000 entrants worldwide. Dimension Data was recognised for providing outstanding solutions and services in Messaging.

The Global Microsoft Messaging Partner of the Year award recognises Dimension Data as a partner with proven expertise from on-premises to the cloud in planning, deployment, and management of Microsoft Exchange while helping customers lower IT costs, boost user productivity, and better manage risk with anywhere access to communications.

The Global Learning Competency Marketing Excellence Partner of the Year award celebrates the Learning Partner that practiced leading-edge marketing and sales activities to drive skills and certification growth.

Dimension Data’s ability to deliver flexibility and cost reductions to its customers through advanced messaging deployments, hybrid solutions and cloud based offerings of Exchange has positioned them to win customers over from various competing messaging platforms,” said Kirk Gregersen, general manager, Microsoft Office Division.

Lutz Ziob, general manager, Microsoft Learning added: “Dimension Data Learning Services (DDLS) delivered exceptional efforts in helping Microsoft expand partners’ skills. During the past year, DDLS has led the development of learning solutions for channel partners to gain the skills, certifications, and competencies needed to adopt key Microsoft technologies, resulting in a 21 percent increase in their certification business and 18 percent increase in courseware business.” Dimension Data was also named global finalist in the categories Services Partner of the Year Outstanding Collaboration, Support Partner of the Year, and Corporate Account Virtualisation Data Centre Services Partner of the Year. In addition, Dimension Data in India was named Microsoft’s Country of the Year.

The Microsoft Partner Awards recognise Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions during the past year.
