Hair Free Is The Way To Go
Kim Kardashian hasn’t been shy about telling the world that she hates body hair, and that she has everything lasered to leave her smooth all over, and the trend seems to be growing.
Skin Clinic, sk:n (sknclinics.co.uk) recently commissioned a survey that showed some interesting results about what women thought when it came to body hair.
They found that 90 per cent of respondents said female body hair was never attractive and that 93 per cent of women has felt embarrassed by their body hair once or more in the last year.
Antonia Mariconda, health and beauty expert and author at thecosmediccoach.com says, “Ninety two per cent of all my clients now prefer a hair free body, men and women alike now find hairy fuzzy bodies a total turnoff, with men now accounting for half of my referrals to guidance on safe laser hair removal.
“Men tell me that their partners, wives and girlfriends no longer prefer the fuzzy huggable look, but instead like a smooth hair free Adonis, hence the demand for hair removal.
“Women are now becoming braver too and ditching the once popular Brazilian wax for the sexier ‘Hollywood’, which basically means a totally hair free love zone.”
Fifty three per cent of the sk:n survey respondents said they would like to say goodbye to face, lip and chin hair, with a further 52% of survey respondents wanting a lasting solution to bikini line hair.
Shockingly, sk:n found that 80 per cent of women invest time and money weekly in to hair removal, so what can you do to preen yourself to perfection?
Laser treatment is always and option, but sk:n found that 75 per cent of women were deterred by the cost. The benefit is that after 4-6 sessions, the amount of hair has heavily decreased and is gone forever, so it won’t require constant attention.
Waxing is an option and unlike shaving, which sk:in found was the most common way to get rid of unwanted hair, it pulls the hair out at the root meaning it will take longer to grow again.
Hair Removal Expert and Beauty Therapist to the stars, Arezoo Kaviani says that waxing is the best at home solution to unwanted hair.
Some tips she gives are to clean the area you wish to wax properly, making sure it’s free of any oils, lotions or moisturisers.
She emphasises that the temperature of the wax is key in order to keep the process as painless as possible. She recommends Veet’s EasyWax Role-On as it heats itself and keeps the temperature steady.
Remember to apply the wax in the direction of hair growth and remove against it. Pull the skin taut to make sure the hair comes out from the root and doesn’t snap.
Finally, Arezoo recommends not to use perfumes or take hot baths or shows for a day after waxing as it can cause red lumps to appear.
So apparently no hair is the way to go, and with a range of different treatments available, you’ve no excuses when it comes to being completely smooth!
