Social media, whether you love it or hate, is a crucial part of any business’s marketing strategy. However, regular posting can easily put you in a rut of sharing the same type of content over and over again. Mixing up material is refreshing on your feed – and helps you keep followers engaged. So, today, I challenge you to open your toolbox and use your social media tools to do something different!

Here Are 5 Different Social Media Tools To Help You Shake Up Your Feed for the Better:

1. Can You Say It In A Picture?

Instead of typing out a long promo explanation with a photo, why not combine them? Save those 150 characters for your basic pitch and add the details in the photo. Pictures are the perfect way to highlight the most essential information, rather than overwhelming readers with too much text.

2. Create an Infographic

Have lots of information you want to share? Consider an infographic. They are a fun way to show you are knowledgeable in your industry in a fun, visual way. Don’t have original data? That’s ok – We all can’t be Nielsen. Instead, collect information on a topic from other viable sources and cite them. Many tools help you make infographics with sizing for social channels and the like. Two of my favorites are Canva and Easel.ly.

3. What About a GIF?

Typing in all caps to show excitement doesn’t always express just how excited you are. GIFs (those moving images you see all over Twitter) are one of my favorite social media tools. GIFs let you use pop culture to communicate your message in a relatable, fun way. I could tweet someone thank you, or I could thank them in “whale” using Dory from “Finding Nemo”. Which would you rather receive?

4. Video has huge potential.

Video is one of the most effective social media tools used to grab an audience’s attention. Many of us get put off or overwhelmed by the idea of producing a video. Luckily, you don’t need high-end editing software or be super tech-savvy to create excellent video content today. You can make a fun, informative 30-second video with just pictures! 5. Can You Add an Emoji?

So, maybe your message is best received written out in plain text. The simplest way to mix up a block of text is to add an emoji. Whether it’s a coffee cup, heart, or facial expression, make sure it’s relevant to what you are saying or trying to express. Twitter has emojis directly on its keyboard. However, you can also go to emojipedia to get a wider variety. Also, consider putting an emoji in your Twitter handle to draw more attention to all tweets.
