Many homeschoolers choose to attend homeschool conventions as a family. Sound familiar? Take advantage of those days away from home and turn them into an awesome family field trip!

How to Make a Homeschool Convention a Family Field Trip

1. Plan fun activites for your children to enjoy while you are occupied.

While you are busy shopping for curriculum, attending workshops, or chatting with other homeschoolers, plan for your children to enjoy some activites of their own.

If you are attending a Great Homeschool Convention, there are special sessions available for children and teens:

Children’s Conference for ages 5-12

REAL FAITH for the REAL WORLD Teen Track for ages 13 and up

2. Remember your family’s field trip “traditions.”

Perhaps you always take a family snapshot during field trips. Or maybe you stop for ice cream on the way home. Whatever your family’s traditions may be, remember to include them during your homeschool convention trip.

3. Plan to visit one or more local educational attractions.

Traveling to a homeschool convention gives your family the chance to visit places that would normally not be within driving distance. Take full advantage of this opportunity!

If you plan to attend the Great Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati, OH, there are plenty of attractions that your entire family will enjoy.
